X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV Spot #1

The first X-Men Origins: Wolverine television spot aired on FOX Sunday night -- and they really packed some bang for their 60 second buck, as they just about managed to give us all of Wolverine's childhood in one go. If you're unfamiliar with Wolverine and want his origin (and his real name) to be as fresh as a daisy come May 1st, avoid this. But if you're a diehard fanboy/girl who's read every issue and solo series, go ahead. This is straight out of the Bronte-heavy Wolverine: Origin series -- in fact it's an improvement, because it clears up that pesky paternity issue.
I still have issues with Wolverine willingly signing up to be part of Weapon X and pumped full of adamantium, but that's just because I have to nitpick at something. Otherwise, you'd think I was being too nice because of how much Hugh Jackman is on display.

if this movie is in continuity with the x-men films, which i doubt due to the addition of cyclops and sabretooth, remember stryker in x2 suggested logan did join weapon x willingly.

He did suggest it in X2, but I was always hoping they'd reveal Stryker was lying, and we'd find Wolverine was an unwilling participant. That's keeping in line with his comic origin of constant betrayals that result in hideous torture.

I always thought the wolverine blades were implanted by weapon X, and that Wolverine's mutation was his super strength and ability to heal - and that these mutations enabled the weapons to be put in. Frankly, that's a hell of a lot more plausible than that Wolverine's mutation JUST HAPPENED to be badass retracting metallic claws, no?

They're bone claws -- their existence popped up in the 90s with "Weapon X" when it was revealed the doctors didn't know why so much adamantium was draining to Wolverine's wrists...surprise! Claws.
People still argue about whether or not his bone claws are retarded. Personally, I thought they made sense, except for the fact that his hands should have "sheaths" for them, and they shouldn't bust out of his skin all the time.
And it's silly that they've retconned it so that he's forgotten he possesses them numerous times over the years.

I suggest that before leaving such comments, you should check onut the ORIGIN comics. Wolverine had bone claws. The bones were later implanted with adamantium in the Weapon X program. His mutation wasn't metallic claws. His mutations were fast healing, heightened senses and bone claws.

Please someone tell me Wolverine is still at least Canadian? If they change that I will NOT be a happy gal.
