Holy Crap! Gary Oldman Flips Out on Cinematical
Filed under: Independent, New Releases, SXSW, Noir, Mystery & Suspense, Celebrities and Controversy, Celebrities Gone Wild!, Trailers and Clips
OK, I gotta keep this short because I'm crazy busy with SXSW madness, but you won't believe this. A few days ago we published a review of an indie noir film called The Perfect Sleep, and it seems that none other than GARY OLDMAN has taken exception with this review. Seriously, check this video ...
So is it wrong for an actor to trash a movie he's not even IN? It's funny as hell (and his dog is the cutest thing ever) but I think it crosses the line a bit. What do you think?

I'm confused... what does this have to do with Cinematical's review? Is that what he's reading on the paper?

No idea. I don't know what's up with this site recently... I'm guessing just a bad attempt to be funny and drive visitors.

It's a piece of viral for the film.
And Kurt, what's your deal dude? Are you just going to bounce from post to post criticizing the site? If so, then just go somewhere else and crap on them, man. Seriously. We all work real hard around here, and your negativity isn't very productive for you or us.

Well quit with the crap and there won't be any ammo, such as advertising your twitters and purposely misleading titles.

Being that he received a "very special thanks" in the credits on IMDb, I'm doubting that this is actually real. Good viral though.

So, basically, this video is just a part of some marketing campaign for The Perfect Sleep and has nothing to do with Cinematical. Nice job, guys.

It was funny and since when is it a bad thing to post a funny or interesting piece of viral marketing for a film on this site? No problem at all with this post and I jsut dont see why anyone would have a problem with it to tell the truth.

What a weird choice of posts to make a bitchy comment about. "Related to Cinematical"? WTF does that even mean? Cinematical makes posts related to movies and this is a viral that's related to a movie. That's how it's related, dumbass.

So, by extension, ANYTHING posted about movies, anywhere on the internet or elsewhere, is tangentially related to Cinematical? Don't get me wrong, I love me some Cinematical, but can't find the relationship to this video either.

I think there's a little confusion with the post title - and I'll admit, I was confused by it at first too. The title doesn't mean that Gary Oldman is pissed at Cinematical, it's supposed to mean that a video featuring Gary Oldman yelling is literally on Cinematical. Get it? Weinberg's fantastic wordplay ...

Hello?!! That's an obvious line from "Leon: The Professional." This is CLEARLY a viral spot PROMOTING the film,
and over the top is the bloody point.
Great editors have always coined juicy phrases for headlines. The point there being get EVERYONE to read your article.
Funny how so many take the time to complain about being 'lured' to a piece on the net.
When did surfing stop being the point?
;-)

I think wenderful hit it straight on the nose.
I think this is a brilliant piece of viral marketing. If I'd seen Gary Oldmen promote this movie I would have been interested, but him bashing it made it stick in my mind a lot more vividly.
Seriously the other bloke's bit is way over the top. Very mockumentary stuff. This is great stuff, very interesting. Can't wait to see the film.
