Watch This: 'C Me Dance' Trailer Will Leave You ... Um, Confused

"Man, this is gonna tick off the devil."
There are movie trailers, there are epic movie trailers ... and then there's this new trailer for a movie called C Me Dance, which is brought to us by the folks behind Praise Band: The Movie. Yes, like Kirk Cameron's box office champ Fireproof, C Me Dance is another one of those Christian-themed blockbusters -- and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that -- except, well, you go ahead and try to explain what the hell (no pun intended) is going on in this flick. There's a pretty girl and she just wants to dance, but then the Devil shows up and fights this girl's overweight father out in front of the house. What in God's name is ... wait, let me stop there.
C Me Dance will apparently arrive in theaters this Friday in 14 states, and if it's not playing in your area then you can fill out a form to make sure it does. Oh, and this isn't an April Fool's joke either; C Me Dance has an official website and an IMDb page ... so there! 4 out of 5 Doves! And check out this marketing note from the website: "This movie is a chick flick with a manifested devil. This will attract a wide demo of men and women." Why, because women like the chick flick stuff and guys are the devil? I'm all for feel-good movies, except when the "good" is removed, thrown at a wall, burned and buried so no one can ever find it. But maybe I'm being a little too harsh -- check out the trailer below and see if you can figure out what's going on.
C Me Dance hits theaters on April 3rd.
[Thanks Patricia!]

I saw this trailer before "He's Just Not That Into You" a couple of weeks ago, so I can confirm that it's very real.
Amazingly incoherent.

Yet another testimony (pardon the pun) that Christians should stay out of movie making.

i'm sorry. i am a christian and i love movies. i would like to apologize, even though i shouldn't, for what has been made here. i could not believe my eyes, i really couldn't!
buy YHOP, i would like to semi agree/disagree with you. if christians make stuff like this, then yes, please may those that carry that term stop. but not ALL christians are like this. some enjoy films, and appreciate "good" ones. whether that be the dark knight, a wes anderson film, a really good documentary, or dare i say it, even something made by michael moore. so it seems as though the stuff that gets noticed by christians is subpar and well awful, it's not all of us.

Uh.. Michael Moore is a practicing Catholic.
So, what's your definition of a ' Christian ' ?

i wasn't commenting on michael moore's faith, by no means. i was making light of the fact that most "christians" these days (and by that i mean bible belt, conservatives) generally boycott a film by michael moore. that's all.

I just want to dance. But I have cancer. But I will keep on dancing anyways. But the devil himself wants to take my soul. But I have cancer, but that's not going to stop me. The devil might, though, but as long as I keep dancing everything will be fine. Wait, the devil is saying something incoherent. Does it matter, though, because I'm going to keep on dancing! Wait, the cancer thing. Oh my god (little g, don't want to piss off the big G), what is a girl to do?
I can't wait to not see this movie.

I think what is happening is the devil is targeting her because he hates ballet so her dad says, "I'm going to get all Ned Flanders on your ass." And then they hold a sience, because hey, that's what Jesus would do. And then another devil says "What do you know of Hell, mortal?"
???
Really though, there are some odd films on the Christian channels. But if you know some of the conservative teachings it isn't that surprising. This is the kind of stuff that has been circulating at churches long before anyone ever thought it would sell at the multiplex. I don't know if I should be concerned that they are using scare tactics to convert people or that they aren't using them very well.

I've seen this movie recently. I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised to see a clean movie that had suspense, drama and action. No matter what you do on a Sunday, this movie will be entertaining. Sure it might not have had the $100 Million dollar budget that Hollywood usually produces, but I can tell you it didn’t have other things too. For example, it didn’t have sex, swearing, nudity, innuendo’s, blood, gore, senseless violence and the typical garbage that the majority of ticket buyers sell their souls for every Friday.
A movie screen is a very powerful tool. For Christians, passing along a positive message is always a good thing and a responsibility. Why not the positive word of God? After seeing this film, if a non-believer or someone who has strayed from God starts asking questions to a friend or someone who has accepted the Lord, budget or no budget, it is worth the effort. I imagine the producers of this film were not thinking about Hollywood when they were making this movie. That’s the point.
The movie is not marketed at the theater as a Christian film. Even though it is a Christian production, God is only the message, don’t ignore the storyline. It is well written and holds up its own with the recipe of a good story. I can tell anyone that it does not use scare tactics to convert anyone and I saw no evidence of spiritual warfare. These terms have been unfairly used in this blog. This is yet another example of making assumptions before you find out the facts. The devil in the movie is portrayed not as a main character but more as a symbol of the young girls fear. So, don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. This might be the only case that seeing is believing!
Still, after all the negative comments that these bloggers and commentary have spread on the net, they are trashing a good movie that they never seen. Doesn’t anyone think twice to question that? Does that make sense to anyone? Go see it for yourself. You be the judge and don’t let anyone dictate or make decisions for you. Find out for yourself what the movie is all about. It is by no means a Bible thumping flick, but a true good spirited, entertaining 89 minutes. Truthfully, it only leads me to conclude that the negative people in these blogs have a real need to see this movie.
If it is a Hollywood $100 Million+ film that you demand, then I will stand proud outside of the stuck up Starbuck’s line. Movies do not have to be blockbusters or have high over exceeding budgets to be a good picture to see. Can anyone tell me the last time you could take the whole family to see a film without slamming into any of the uncomfortable situations that are named above? Cartoon animations don’t count. Anyone? Anyone? Take a second to think about. It’s sad.
I’m suggesting to anyone reading this to step out of their assimilated Hollywood, Starbucks line and grow a little intellectually and maybe a little spiritually. If you are one of the negative commentators, please stand up and show us all that you are the bigger person. Just don’t sit there behind your laptop eating Doritos in your three day old T shirt and completely afraid of something new and nothing to do with yourself but be negative to things you have never seen or experienced. See the light…it’s just outside your bedroom door. Go toward the light.
One more thing. Trailers are meant for “teasing” potential audiences. A commercial. It is designed to entice or intrigue people. Today, more times than not, after watching a trailer on TV, you almost come away with the entire storyline. Why do that? If I was going to skip a movie, it would because of those trailers. Then again, I never judge a book by it cover.
Peace.

Christians shouldn't make movies? Wow, ignorance abounds.
Let me point you to some *good* Christian movies.
Metropolis. The first great science fiction film, with images that have made their way into the collective subconscious. One of the few silent era films that's still sought out by mainstream youth.
Blade Runner. The nail through the hand, the "Spirit" ascending into heaven through the *only* break in the clouds we ever see. An android's search for eternal life, something *all* human people have thought about one time or another.
Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea Family Reunion are hilarious... Sure, Tyler Perry has become predictable, but his movies are about empowering women -- when Christians get a lot of crap about *oppressing* women!
Romero, which was a *very* challenging film, well acted, staged and directed.
Spitfire Grill, which was financed by the Catholic Church, and is a flawless "art" movie.
The End of the Spear, which was much better done than Cameron's Fireproof, but had a severely limited release.
A Clockwork Orange, written by a Catholic, and addresses the importance of the *very* Christian concept of free will, even in the most offputting of characters.
Unforgiven, whose title has no meaning outside of a Christian context.
Truman Show, which harkens back the age-old Morality Tale. True-Man vs. Christ-os. "I am the Creator..... of a television show!"
Passion of the Christ. Hating Mel Gibson , Yet Another Internet Cliche, but it's still the best Bible Movie ever made.
"Christians should stop making movies" is not just bigoted, but absolutely foolish, as it would cost us some of the greatest movies of the 20th (and 21st) centuries.
