One thing I'm liking about 2009 so far is that we've been fortunate enough to witness a whole bunch of entertaining, idiotic celebrity moments. And while I'm not one to obsess over celebrities and the stupid little egotistical things they do on a daily basis, listening to Christian Bale scream at a cinematographer or Billy Bob Thornton act like a complete moron on live radio somehow brightens up my day. Why? Because it's funny; they're funny. With everything that's going in the world right now -- job losses, economic hardships, a live-action Dragonball movie -- Billy Bob Thornton decides to act like the world's biggest incompetent jerk on a radio show that's promoting his work. How is that not hilarious?
But did he really act like a jerk, or was it all a big misunderstanding? In the fourth episode of Jeremy Fisher's For Real show, Mr. Fisher explains exactly what went down on that radio show; that Billy Bob wasn't acting like a drunk donkey with an ear infection -- instead, he was just responding to a botched Canadian-to-English translation of the entire conversation. As a Canadian, I do apologize for our collective good manners in not throwing objects at him while performing. Perhaps we were interested in hearing the music or maybe we weren't drunk on cheap bourbon. It could be we just don't give a fuck because he's boring.

I heard a lot of comments about this before I watched it and, going in I had some preconceived notions views on Billy Bob Thornton. But in watching the video, I think there was something going on with either Mr Thornton or within his band. These guys did not look comfortable - they all looked extremely nervous. It's almost as if something went on behind the scenes just before this interview took place. Like someone just received some really bad news but they had to do the show anyway. Maybe they should have canceled the interview instead of the tour.

This isn't just his demeanor in his interviews, this is the way he communicates. He is defensive, and constantly combative in his personal life as well. I know, I have known him personally. He is unable to deal with anything people say to him, he suspects everyone in his immediate surroundings of ill intent; friends, lovers, relatives, you name it! In business you can only imagine how much worse he can be, but he is horrendous in daily life. He is intrusive, cruel, cowardly, accusatory, and dogmatic. He is not a tough guy it's all an act! If he were, he'd be starring in action films in which he is OO7, or a similar character, But he does not get parts like that. Food for thought. Drugs? Many, he loses touch of reality and forgets where he is.Once I visited him at a hotel, when I commented that The Tiffany Theater is just around the corner, he recanted "Ha what? Ha?" with a blank stare, as if to say "Who am I, and where am I?" It would be sad if he weren't scary and insulting to others.One other time, at his home, he forgot the code to enter, to go upstairs, inside of HIS own home?
