Discuss: What's in the 'Crank' Cooler?
Filed under: Action, Lionsgate Films, Fandom, Remakes and Sequels
Some mild Crank: High Voltage spoilers to follow...Taking in an estimated $6.5 million for the weekend, the Crank sequel seemed to please most fans (less so myself) and many critics (the Tomatometer now stands at 69%, over the original's 60%) without totally taking America by storm. Hey, we live in a world where not everyone wants to pay to see Jason Statham stick a lubed-up shotgun inside some thug's rectum -- different strokes, people, different strokes.
Now, as Chev Chelios finally confronted the man with the red cooler (Art Hsu) after a momentarily Godzilla-like showdown, he opened the cooler to find not his stolen heart, but... something, something vaguely but freakishly off-putting to even the steely likes of Chev -- he reacts to the effect of "Why would you possibly carry this around with you?" -- and then, naturally, we never find out what the cooler holds.
So, as many had likewise debated as to the contents of that briefcase in Pulp Fiction, I'd like to hear your theories on what exactly was in that cooler. Was it Jason Statham's hair? The script for the next Tyler Perry outing? A puppy?
("Whatever, I wanted a cat.")

A penis comparable to the chart drawing seen early on in the film.

It was a male genitalia loaded with piercings like Art Hsu's face. Was anyone else as disappointed in the second Crank as I was? It just seemed to get more and more ridiculous.

thats the point it has to be redic... but not like Ghostrider redic. more like Kill Bill redic. once it is set that this is a crazy movie where a guy is trying to find his heart it doesnt matter where the plot goes from there... only just ture fun.

1. Remembering the scene in the stripclub, where Vang is confronted with a new way of sushi, I think the content of the cooler has something to do with the Latins.
2. Remembering the nipple - scene at the ferret's house, it could be those nipples, collected to be sewed on again

About #2: didn't he pick his nipples right up off the floor?
(I can't believe I just typed that. This time last week, never would've crossed my mind...)

It was funny because with all the screwed up stuff in the movie, you couldn't think there was possibly anything that Chev Chelios would think was repulsive or wrong. His reaction to the box was priceless...the scene would've been ruined if we ever saw what was in it.
Crank 2 rocked by the way, brilliant chaos.
