Who Wants to Buy 'Sin City'?

Sin City is the series that just can't catch a break. Last week, IESB.net was reporting that the Weinstein Company / Dimension had lost the rights to Sin City, and that the franchise was being quietly shopped around. The rumors were hotly denied by the Weinsteins ... but now The Hollywood Reporter is saying the same darn thing. While the Weinsteins continue to maintain that they hold the rights, producers all around town are saying that Frank Miller's "estate" has been shopping around those same rights. It's unclear if they have lapsed due to the failure to renew or move on the property, but it seems strange that they could have expired so soon.
This is a rumor that I think we all hope comes true. I'd like to see Sin City land at a studio willing to actually put A Dame to Kill For into production instead of just talking about it. It's been four (count 'em, four) years since Sin City, with "production starting in a matter of weeks!" reports being issued every three months or so. The talent remains enthusiastic and attached. Fans are clamoring for the rest of the sleazy series. It's a no brainer for any other studio, but the Weinstein Company seems to believe delaying films until the end of the world is a sound business principle.
What would you like to see ultimately happen with the next Sin City movie, and who do you think would take the best care of it?

Give it to Warner Bros; of all the big studios, they seem to be the most willing to take a risk right now, and they've got enough money to throw at it to make sure it's something special. As long as RR is back at the helm, with Frank Miller alongside.

I can't believe this hasn't been made yet either. "The Spirit" is over so Frank is probably free. Not sure what RR has been up to, although I thought Planet Terror was awesome. I bet the cast on this one will be redic

I second the nomination for Warner Bros. Between Dark Knight and Watchmen, they've become the go-to studio for genre flicks. The fact that the Weinstein's haven't cashed in on this yet is nothing short of remarkable.

i don't care for a second film, the first one was really badly written, and we all know about the disaster that "the spirit" was, and because of that film i don't think "sin city 2" will ever really be made.

I am a little pissed that SC2 has not been made yet, I loved the first one and was really looking forward to another installment. I don't care who they give it to as long as it gets made. I still want RR involved too, I also loved Planet Terror.

They kind of missed the boat by not doing this sooner. The buzz on the first Sin-City was so great they should have made it right away. It already has the stories done just need to put them to screen.

i never read the comics aand i fell in love with this movie. and im pissed. i think the weinsteins are douches and someone should take a baseball bat to their knees. they are useless. im still shocked that they had the nerve to make a second company for "projects they didnt really believe in" who comes out and admits that kind of crap.
F*** the weinsteins they ruined an excellent movie. it did really well at the box office and its probably gonna suffer because it was such a huge gap between the first and next one.
