Leave it up to the Star Wars fans to not let those Star Trek-lovin' fanboys enjoy their time in the spotlight this weekend, as a new video has arrived online that shows the Death Star blowing up the Starship Enterprise because, according to the video description, those folks aboard the Trek ship were whale poaching in the waters surrounding San Francisco. Watch as several Storm Troopers (and other familiar Star Wars baddies) gather to scope out the situation and make sure everything goes according to plan, while a lowly camera dude somehow bumbles his way in to capture the event, Cloverfield-style. The video, hosted over at Current, is one of a few mock Star Wars bits -- one of which shows the Death Star hanging out over San Francisco. Nicely done! The technique is impecable.
The reaction of the storm troopers in the first one made me laugh. The second, I believe, was an exercise in showing off their technical ability.
