'Toy Story 3' Teaser Arrives Online
Filed under: Animation, Remakes and Sequels, Trailers and Clips
Remember how the Digital Cinema Summit got a peek at a teaser for Toy Story 3? It took a few months, but it's finally online for our eager eyes to devour. However, since this is an early teaser, and not a trailer, there's no peek into the movie -- just Woody getting the whole gang together to make a cute, improvised sign for the film ... only to have Mr. High-Tech Buzz Lightyear show up and zoom away with the spotlight.Watching them make the sign, we get a quick rundown of all the awesome characters, from Wallace Shawn's almost-inconceivable Rex the Green Dinosaur, to John Ratzenberger's lazy Hamm the Piggy Bank to Joan Cusack's wild Jessie and Don Rickles' back-breaking Mr. Potato Head. Man, I love these guys. The animation might be good and all, but it's the voices that always got me.
Unfortunately, this is all we'll get for a little while -- the full trailer is supposed to premiere in October during that special double-billing of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D. Toy Story 3 is slated to hit screens on June 18, 2010.
Watch the video below and weigh in: Is this enough to satiate your Toy Story appetite?

Did this really need a sequel? What more can they do, go to China and take on the cheap import business? I hope this doesn't turn into a Shrek franchise. But if anyone can pull off a CG trilogy, it's Pixar.

Um, there's already been 1 sequel, so yeah, it needed another! Don't be dumb... great movies need sequels to satiate the appetites of those that loved the originals. How much would it have sucked to never see Woody and Buzz onscreen again?
Well, I'm asking you, but obviously you didn't want to see it, so my opinion is useless to you.
Still, Shrek isn't in the same league as this, obviously. You can't mention them in the same sentence in that way...

Pixar = Hit. Besides, it has John Ratzenberger in it, which is Pixar's lucky charm. And yes.. this is one IP that needed a 3rd (and a 4th and 5th movie).

Toy Story 2 was in 1999 so I bet the story picks up 10 years later and shows what happens to toys when the kids that played with them grow up. Maybe something along the lines of a new generation of kids getting to play with them. OR competing with video games and how kids sit in front of the tv all day and don't use their imaginations anymore.

Man, that idea for the whole t.v thing sounds genius, but that's not it. This is the official description.
"Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dropped off at a day-care center after their owner, Andy, who is fond of his toys, departs for college."

Toy Story 1 & 2 came out before my son was born and it is his favorite film (saying that I need to get him a new copy, DVDs all scratched up now). He's ecstatic as I am when we found out there's a new Toy Story film coming out, he's 7 1/2 now. It's definitely up there with other Disney classics. I can't wait for this one to come out. For me Pixar's films never disappoints.

If I recall correctly, Andy is going off to college and his toys are in "danger" of something. It's on Wikipedia, but of course, take it with a grain of salt.

Don't think of it as a sequel. Do you get tired of Bugs Bunny or John Wayne? Think of this more as a new adventure for an ensemble cast, Yeah, I'm there.

I LOVED Toy Story as a kid. I was born in '93, and would watch it every time it came on TV. Now that I'm older, I can't wait to see TS3 and get back to those days. :]
