MTV Movie Awards Clips: 'Transformers, 'G.I. Joe' and More

Above: MTV revealed the first clear shot of The Fallen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Oh, admit it -- you totally watched the MTV Movie Awards last night because you're secretly obsessed with Robert Pattinson and you knew they'd be overdosing on the poor guy since MTV is fastly becoming the All Twilight Network. In case you missed some (or all) of the action, here are the new clips they aired, as well as a little of the show itself.
First up is that clip from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. MTV took it down for some reason, but Trailer Addict has it up in decent quality. Essentially, Sam and Mikaela are hiding from a whole fleet of Decepticons, and when Sam destroys some weird looking mosquito/satellite bot, all hell breaks loose. Check it out below.
Head after the jump for much more ...
Next up is a clip from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which looks like it may sport a few cool action sequences, but the acting looks terrible. Maybe that's the point, though -- I still haven't been able to get a good read on this flick. Are they going for that campy tone? Are they trying to be serious and it's coming off campy? And why do they keep shoving those weird robotic suits down our throats in every preview? Can we see a scene where the characters don't look like rejected Robocops? Eh ... check it out below.
And here's a clip from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. No need for an explanation -- it's Potter, he's back.
Here's a new trailer for the Michael Mann-directed Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp as notorious criminal John Dillinger and Christian Bale as the FBI agent in charge of tracking him down.
Oh, and you know you want to watch that Sacha Baron Cohen/Eminem stunt again. For those who didn't see it yet, Cohen flew in to introduce an award as his alter-ego Bruno, only there was a technical difficulty and his bare ass landed right in Eminem's face. Was it planned? Probably. Did it go a little farther than what Eminem was expecting? Most definitely. Check it out below ..
And I had to include this Ben Stiller tribute, which mocked the Academy Awards' actor and actress award intros ... simply because Kiefer Sutherland is an absolute riot.
Oh, and here's the winners list in case you're actually interested in the bogus awards (most of which went to Twilight, surprisingly):

Being that it was in HD, the clips and trailers looked great last night. That's what I was watching for.
Also, I thought that Andy Samberg did a pretty good job and kept the show actually watchable.
I don't really understand all the Twilight awards. The acting and directing was terrible in that movie. But I guess when the kids get to vote, this is what we end up with.
And while Kings of Leon actually sounded great (my first time hearing of them), what the hell do they have to do with movies? (the same with Eminem). Those two performance left me scratching my head.

None of the musical guests have anything to do with the movies. One year, for no appearant reason, AFI played...and I don't think they've ever been on a soundtrack. Ever. The music guests are just whoever's put out a recent CD. I don't understand it and it doesn't make sense to me.
Uh. Does the G.I. Joe movie feel like Street Fighter to anyone else...?

the winners are crap...now I remember why there's a reason I've been avoiding anything MTV related for the last few years.
really? Twilight was better than Slumdog or Dark Knight? That just says it all.

It's like someone coming up quietly behind you, tapping you on the shoulder, and whispering 'you're old'.
Think about it...the target demo for this show could have been conceived after a drunken 10pm showing of 'Twister'.

I agree with everyone about the musical guests. I would have loved to see Paramore play, even though they're not that great. because their song was featured not only in the movie Twilight, but also because every single add for a DVD or a new premiere for that movie afterward had Paramore in it.
I personally loved the Em/Bruno prank. Dunno if it was staged or not staged, but what a great way to be handed an award (heehee Zac Efron). You gotta think though, why was Bruno so set on f*cking with Em? Was is even Sasha Baron Cohen? Or a double? We'll see about that.
As for all the Twilight awards Keith, you're right. Kids vote and adults don't and therefore what the kids want wins. I thought Slumdog's acting was a million times better then that of Twilight, but the hype around the later was unbelievable. I mean, EVERYBODY heard about it. Didn't mean they liked it, but they sure as hell heard about it. Because of this, Twilight just received more public attention, which in turn just shot it up to the top, however bad the acting might have been.

Kind of surprised that the a 0-17 year old voters had even heard of Slumdog!
The Best actor category is hilarious! Christian Bale and Robert Downey Jr against Zac Eron, Vin Deisel and Shia LaBeouf. Two of these things are really not like the others, why do they even bother trying to appear serious with these categories? And would they have even watched The Dark Knight if it hadn't been such a megahit, it seems really highbrow and dark compared to HSM3 and Twilight.
