Kirsten Dunst 'Definitely' Returning to Spider-Man 4, More Villain Hints

With Sam Raimi dragging everyone to hell this past week, Spider-Man 4 rumors are flying as fast and furious as its webby hero. The New York Post caught up with Sony producer Todd Black to pump him for info, and here's what he had to confirm and deny.Black says Kirsten Dunst is returning as Mary Jane, which may quash all that undecided talk that has plagued the film since it was first announced. However, there are no plans to unite Peter and Mary Jane in holy matrimony. All rumors of Morbius being the villain are false, but it will be someone from the Spidey comics, and Black drops a very slight hint as to who it could be: "We're just coming up with who the villain's going to be now. We'll be shooting in New York again. Trust me, people will appreciate who we pick, because it'll be a big part of New York."
The villain that hint really points to is Kingpin, but he was in Daredevil which suggests Fox has the rights to that particular villain. (Are there crossover claims? I honestly have no idea.) There are a lot of similar mobsters to pick from, but would they resist the temptation for a supervillain and go all real-world? As for other NY based villains, could it be Wraith? He was a NYPD patrolman, and has a tragic origin story that would be pretty ideal. Two weaker suggestions would be Jackal, who was an Empire State University professor, but as they didn't kill Gwen Stacy, I don't know how they would work him in. I think Hydro-Man lives in the Hudson, but that skirts too close to Sandman. Argh, I'm no good at this guessing game. I'll hand it over to you Spidey fans and go enjoy the weekend.

I agree...The Lizard aka Dr. Conner should be in Spiderman 4...I also think Rhino, Scorpion, or Kraven The hunter should be Villians in the movie too.

zooped and sheriff dewey are on the right track, have S3 be the lizard and Kraven, Its the perfect match, A lizard-like creature is stalking the streets of NY so J. Jonah lures the greatest big game hunter, Kraven with a million dollar bounty to hunt the creature now the race is on between spidey and kraven to save the Lizard or destroy it.
The only one I can see playing Kraven is Gerald Butler, and I wish Rami had set Bruce Campbell up as the Lizard cause we would know and actually care about the character.

I am going with the Lizard. They should stick with one villain and make him scary. They also should have Mary Jane and Peter finally together happy with each other.

I wonder if it could be Mac Gargan. He plays the Scorpion but in his later years becomes the Venom this way you could rewrite the mistakes with the last movies Venom and have a cool Venom.
My bet would be Molten Man (Mark Raxton) He was born an raised in New York. Plus the one who helped make the
Spider-Slayers.
The Spider-Slayers could be some big trouble for Spider-man.
I also could see the Spider-Slayers in S4 because right now Hollywood is all about big Robots. So this would be Sony's answer for that.

While he's not necessarily associated with NY, I would LOVE to see Carnage! They could very easily explain it after the last (horrible) movie.

I wish it'd be Mysterio as it's my own personal belief that Raimi has perfectly set up Bruce Campbell to be Spidey's notorious actor/FX-designer villain. Here's my point: Campbell has been in 3 Spidey movies so far and played 3 different characters, the wrestling emcee, the theatre usher and the French maitre d'. So maybe that wasn't just 3 guys who looked like Bruce Campbell, maybe that was one guy in 3 disguises keeping tabs on this kid with spider powers and a secret identity. He's really Mysterio, using his acting and FX skills to go incognito and spy on his target. He's getting intel, watching, biding his time until the moment is right to strike. I think that'd be a really cool turn of events, but, Avi Arad will probably just make them use Carnage or something.

i want carnage. if they could make him anywhere as messed up as christopher nolan made the joker, the movie would be crazy. they need to have one good villain in this film. 2 or 3 is too much, i want to see the characterisation of these characters. In the last one, it all happened so quickly, you didnt get engaged. Learn from the dark knight, have one messed up arch villain, and the movie will be a blockbuster. Just an idea. Reply if you agree.
