The Mother of All TV Adaptations: Full House!

Stop! Before you begin to worry -- so far this is only a pipe dream, one that suggests that one Rebecca Romijn was a stabilizing influence. It seems that ol' Uncle Jesse told The New York Daily News that he's conceptualizing a Full House feature film. John Stamos said: "I'm working on a movie idea, but it wouldn't be us playing us. I'm not 100% sure, but it would probably take place in the first few years" of the series that ran from 1987 to 1995.
He's so into the idea that he's even got casting ideas. He wants James Franco to take on his role, and he thinks Steve Carell should play Danny Tanner while Tracy Morgan plays Joey Gladstone "because he's funny." Moviefone then helped out suggesting Zac Efron as Jesse, Zach Galifianakis as Joey, Miley Cyrus as D.J., and Elle Fanning as Stephanie.
I'm going to agree with the choices -- not because I like them, but because the ideas fill me with the same repulsion the show did, so they must be on the right track. But what could Stamos be thinking? What on earth makes the story cinematic? I could maybe buy the Camerons making an uber Christian version, but would any of you actually pay money to see this? I'm just hoping that this is Stamos amusing himself by inciting rumor mayhem. But if not...
Do you think you could do better casting this ill-conceived sucker?

Whoa! Slow down! This could actually be amazing! They could turn this into a gem of a parody. Steve Carell as Danny.. just think what he might do with the role. I doubt this will ever actually happen, but if it does, I'm gonna keep an open mind.

I think as long as they're already making a movie based on that, they might as well spice it up and cast Chris Rock as Uncle Joey and Gerard Way as Uncle Jesse.
No, seriously, why not? It's not like the original wasn't mind dumbingly dull!

At least let us get to the chopper.
No sex, no violence, family values... like every other comedy about a family, this will be cheap to make and will bring in good box office. Ignore the brand name and look at the ingredients -- it's a winner.
Of course, that doesn't mean it'll actually be watchable, but how often does that matter?

I'd watch this movie if:
1) The original cast were brought back.
2) It was a parody like the hilarious Brady Bunch movies.

I would watch if the original cast came together to film a movie about them trying to recapture the glory by pitching a movie about themselves in 2009. A pitch that nobody wants to listen to and which sends them all into a tightly knit spiral of degrading and irrational behavior. Written by a drunk and stoned Bob Saget.

Please god, this is the exact kind of role I was afraid Galifanakis would get offered after The Hangover's success. No, no, no. I will not see this movie. The show lasted about 5 years too long.
