Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen ... On a Scale of 1-10

Another week, another ginormous summer movie, and another chance for you Cinematical readers to tell us what you think in the safe, anonymous comfort of our 1-10 poll. Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has smashed its way into theaters today, and it's already kicking up a flurry of controversy for its questionable racial stereotypes and Bay's staunch belief in robot testicles. And you thought people would just be talking about Megan Fox on that motorcycle ...
Our own Todd Gilchrist called it "the most movie I have ever experienced" and assured fans that it was full of all the robot carnage their hearts could desire. "Michael Bay, condensing the cumulative total of the spectacle from all of his seven previous films into one unwieldy, gargantuan opus, has exceeded even the possibilities of sequel-driven "moreness," combining his own muscular, high-gloss sensibility with the conventions of blockbusters past, present, and probably future to create a monolithic action masterpiece that feels destined to be the biggest movie of all time ... Anyone wondering when and if filmmakers would stop being so damn sensitive about the necessary end result of an attack on the world's populace will no doubt be relieved to know that Michael Bay has filled Revenge of the Fallen with more wanton, meaningless destruction than any other movie in recent memory."
But that's just one man's opinion. Tell us yours ...

Anybody with an ounce of sanity left is voting for that. Quite possibly the most disgraceful piece of cinema ever made.

ive given up on you erik davis. it's cool. no one was hurt during this thing. just this website you work for. its cool. its like that thing that would come up at the bottom of this website where aol tried a hostile takeover of whatever the hell they were trying to do. that didnt work and now its gone. when will this crappy scale go away? who knows. the only thing it really does:
absolutely nothing.

What's your problem, dude? We're doing something a little different than all the other sites for this summer's big blockbusters and then at the end of the summer we're going to tally things up to see where all the films placed with moviegoers. There's plenty of other content for you to browse if you don't like the poll -- seriously, taker a chill pill and move on. Thousands of people have voted in our summer 1-10 polls -- we're not going to pull them because Jonathan thinks they're lame.

Ain't nothin' wrong with a 1-10 list. Why attack someone personally over it? If you don't like the website, don't come here. Hey, crazy idea, right? Someday you'll be lucky to be as clever.

wow a response!
i was saying, this entire time, that you could make the 1-10 better. better better better. you are doing something different, which is good, but the scale is just bad.
thats what ive been getting at dude.
thanks anyway, hope its better next summer!

It's not really that easy to describe a feeling based on a number, but I tried to give a general idea to better help people decide where they fit into the list. Even without the descriptions, people are used to 1-10 polls in pop-culture, and should be able to answer them without us having to describe each one. But feel free to throw out your suggestions

I gave it a 6, it was good but there were alot of things I didn't like about it. I definitely think part 1 is better, because the first actually felt like a movie to me this seemed like a commercial/big trailer with giant gremlins in certain parts.
..........Minor Spoiler (Maybe).........................................
Why did Michael Bay get mad at McG about using a giant robot in terminator salvation when he uses a terminator girl in his?

I gave it a ten, because I had to change my pants after Devastator popped up. So, it was literally orgasmic.
If it wasn't for the skeet, I would probably give it an eight on this scale. Great action, but I don't think it will hold up on my non-HD-TV.

The first one seemed more seemless. This one had alot of obvious this is CGI matte on, especially with the Jar Jar Twins.

So according to the pole, people either really liked it, or really hated it.
Quite frankly, I thought it was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen, for many reasons:
-The dialogue was awful
-They literally ripped off like 11 other movies (Star Wars, -Terminator, and Wanted to name a few)
-The plot was straight out of the game Diablo 2 at the end of the movie, not to mention the first half of the movie's plot was clearly just confabulated as they went along.
-The continuity in the movie was outlandishly bad. ( Since when does the air and space museum in Washington, DC lead to a grass land full of C-130s and flanked by mountains?
-Oh and not to mention the fact that the movie was horribly racist with those 2 Chevy Aveo or whatever robots.
Honestly, how could anyone with an IQ above 7 like this movie? So far, this summer's "blockbusters" have not lived up to expectations.

Aaron nailed the points dead-on. The "Twins" are in such incredibly bad taste I scoffed out loud. How the hell did those guys get past the test audiences?
For f**k's sake, the green one has a gold tooth and they "can't" read. Was Bay trying to be stereotypical or just plain stupid? He succeeded at both.

How can you people question someone’s intelligence for watching this movie....this isn't some great period piece or a psychological thriller where you might need a brain to understand. This is a movie based on the pure wanton joy of seeing things blown up and destroyed, and on that it delivers ten fold. I found the movie great, it was everything I expected it to be and nothing more. Stop walking around with your noses in the air people, this wasn’t made to win Oscars….
