Michael Bay to (Maybe) Direct Teen Alien Movie Next
Filed under: Action, Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fandom, Newsstand

With Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen absolutely demolishing the box office this week (it took in another $28 million on Thursday), Variety reports that DreamWorks is looking to pick up the film rights to the first book in an as-yet-unpublished six-book series for Michael Bay to produce and potentially direct. The book, titled I Am Number Four, tells of a group of earthbound alien teens who escaped their planet just as another hostile species was destroying it. Now, as they attempt to settle in and build new lives for themselves on earth, the main character discovers that he is being hunted by the same enemy that blew up his home planet.

it makes me sad that spielberg thinks bay is a worthy filmmaker. it makes me ever sadder that the new transformers film looks to be the biggest film of the year... people are dumb. even the ones you think are smart. sigh.

2007 transformers movie was nothing less than fantastic..Left most of us movie goers speechless..great writing, editing and astonishing action sequences...left us transformer fans nodding our heads in approval..seen it 5 times in the theater needless to say..Then came the arrival of the inevitable sequel...us fans looking very optimistic inside the theater in the mornin of june 24th 2009 here in the city of angels.....i felt insulted as the movie ended..not sure what the heck these filmmakers were thinking...feels as though the writers were in a hurry to put it out and take advantage of this cash cow of a franchise..Mr Bay gets his bonus,so technically,he doesnt truly care bout the underplotting of this film..just as long he sells tickets..made a fool outta me paying for a ticket for this film..i aint mad at him though...Mr.Bay set the bar very high in 2007..Then decided to come home low in 2009...great effects though, dont get me wrong...it was the plotting, way too many robots,to much megan fox glossy lipps, which weakened the film...But hey,you got your money so who cares...

Shouldn't Bay be standing in that photo?
Not only is Spielberg older, but surely considerably wiser. If anything Bay should be sitting on his lap or sitting like a good boy on the floor.
