DC Movies Are Finally Catching Up To Marvel!

Remember earlier this year when I pondered just what the heck was taking so long when it came to DC's big screen adaptations? Well, all we had to do was give them a few months, and they started kicking ass and taking names. The Hollywood Reporter has a big piece all about how DC and Warner Bros have united in a creative partnership that rivals the continuity-happy gang at Marvel Entertainment, and it's a relationship that is hoping to yield some wonderful surprises. In a show of just how serious they are, Warner Bros quietly brought on comic supermen Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, and Marv Wolfman to act as creative consultants for their major properties such as The Flash, Teen Titans, and anything else the studio might throw at them. Even now, Wolfman and Morrison are working on super secret productions the likes of which fans can only dream about.
Wait, what was that -- The Flash? Yep, Johns is in the producer chair on the project, and worked up a new treatment for the character. Dan Mazeau is currently writing the script, and the hunt for a director is in the works. There's no Wonder Woman, Superman, or Justice League in the works, but you will be getting Bizarro Superman, which is being penned by David Howard and Robert Gordon. Also in the works is a sequel to Constantine, a solo Green Arrow movie, the Green Arrow prison lark, Supermax, and still-alive Shazam. Plus, if you've got pitches for Adam Strange or Aquaman, the studio would very much like to hear them!
Naturally, that's all in the far and distant future, but with The Green Lantern, The Losers, and Red (a DC comic, but being set up at Summit with Bruce Willis) about to go before cameras, it looks like Marvel has some major competition at last. When the dust clears on this goldrush, it's going to be very very interesting to see if there will be a winner in terms of quantity, quality, and "What the hell were they thinking?" output.

The Flash??? Ryan Reynolds is gonna be so disappointed since he's been wanting to do that for like forever unless he tries to triple dip but I highly doubt that.

Anybody have any idea how they would do a Flash movie? I just don't see a way to make it look cool on screen. He's just to fast for it to be interesting.

I beg to differ. I think a Flash movie could be interesting. Every hero has some problem that goes beyond their powers or they have a moment of weakness. Flash isn't bullet proof (even if he moves so fast he can 'slap' bullets). But other than his speed the character has a lot of weeknesses to exploit. I think Flash and Green Lantern could make a big splash. I'm almost glad it means a break from a new Superman. Wait and do Superman in another 5 years I think.

I think Flash could be fun but I want the movie to not be all comical. I want some seriousness added into the film.
I think the best way to make a flash film is to film an Olympic runner. So you see the fastness in the film but slow every one else done so it looks realistic. I know some people want to see flash look like he is running really fast but I would want him to run fast but at the same time look real doing it too.
Plus this would not make him fast either just give the movie a nice feel.
Also I would love an Aquaman movie people hate his story yet if you ever read the comics he is nothing like people think He is.
I would love it to take place when he is the king of Atlantis. Plus I would want an older actor some one in there forties at least. This way you get the feel of the King of Atlantis.
