Sienna Miller Gets Feisty with Aussie Radio for 'G.I. Joe' Junket
Filed under: Action, Paramount, Celebrities and Controversy, Movie Marketing, Comic/Superhero/Geek
I remember once watching an interview with R&B superstar Patti LaBelle and when they asked her about the state of celebrity gossip and the paparazzi, this was her sage advice (and I'm paraphrasing): "If you don't want your picture taken sit your a** at home". Now normally I would agree with her, but when it comes to British 'It' girl, Sienna Miller, I don't think that particular rule applies, because if it did, she might never get to leave her house again. During a radio interview with Australia's Matt & Jo, the actress got a little testy when the topic of her alleged-boyfriend Balthazar Getty came up in the conversation (the interview, which you can listen to below, takes place at the beginning of the recording). It all started to go downhill when Miller took offense to some of the DJ's comments and called him a "d-bag" and "misogynist". But when Getty's name came up things went from bad to worse and the interview is cut painfully short.Miller should know better than anybody the power of an unkind word, because from the moment she arrived on the scene as 'the other woman', the knives have been out. She's become a tabloid staple and has even had her home vandalized thanks to characterizations about her personal life. Unfortunately, her career has taken a back-seat to her love life, and she has yet to have a hit (critically or commercially). G.I. JOE was her first chance at a starring role in a big-budget action flick, and maybe finally to make a name for herself as something other than some married guy's girlfriend. But if this interview is any indication of Miller's future relationship with the press, I don't see them backing off any time soon. Listen to the interview below.
So what do you think? Was Miller out of line, or was it about time she said enough is enough?

She has to grow up and learn to expect probing questions if she expects to remain in this business. GI Joe looks like a horrible movie (similar to the move XXX with Vin Diesel) so she should also start trying to use the limited celebrity she does have (I have no idea who she is, and I follow movie news constantly) and turn it into something special by pursuing/accepting roles that will change peoples' opinion of her (assuming anyone has an opinion of her).

You can't follow movie news too closely if you've never heard of her, she's been in the news for years. Granted thay have been mostly chick flix and british movies.

she has had an uncanny knack for shooting herself in the foot on the personal side, hasn't she, especially after holding much promise as edie sedgwick, as well as her stint in "casanova". i know there's been talk of the broadway show that might help balance things out, and there was rumour about regarding a film based on the story of eleanor of aquitaine. now THAT would be intriguing.

How can you follow the movie world and not know who Sienna Miller is?
Anyway, I find her to be a very talented actress. She was great in Interview (from which she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award), and also found her to be quite compelling in Factory Girl (bad movie, great performances) and The Edge of Love. I never look towards actors to be my moral compass, just wanting great acting, which she usually provides.

I'll admit I didn't know who she was until I happened to see her on the Daily Show one day. I saw Interview, which I thought was phenomenal. She really should have better roles.

Agreed. Unfortunately, she is known more for her roles on her back and dating married men than any true acting ones. Fair or not, that is the perception. I think she has talent, but she needs to keep her mouth and legs closed for awhile if she wants to be taken seriously as an actress and land some decent roles.

Sienna Miller has destroyed more relationships than.......well, Sienna Miller! She's set a new record! Actress? NO! Home wrecker? YOU BET!! What goes around comes around, girl. Until then, I will boycott any movie or television show that is stupid enough to put you in it because it will mean instant death to that property!

If I was an outsider observing how humans interact, this obsession with how public figures behave outside of their profession would seem inane and quite stupid. They're just people like everyone else. Let me put it this way...imagine if your plumber were having an affair...as long as he unclogged your toilet, would you care who he's sleeping with? No, of course not. You probably would never even know about his affair, because no one cares enough to spread that piece of worthless information. And that's the point. I'm not trying to argue that celebrities and public officials deserve privacy; I couldn't care less about their privacy. I'm just saying that people who care about this sort of thing beyond any rationality are the reason why tabloids exist, and that the very existence of tabloids should make us all ashamed to our very cores to be human beings.

Isn't she the one that quit miss USA pageant in a huff over miss CA's position on marriage (same as Obama's), yet she is cavorting with a married man..Which is worse, if one were to judge?

Shanna Moakler is the one who quit Miss USA over Miss CA's comments about marriage. Shanna Moakler is also known as one half of "Meet the Barkers" on MTV - she was married to Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
Sienna Miller has made more effort to further her career by making her name as "The Other Woman" in quite a number of marriages. She might be a good, or even great, actress but if she ever wants to be well known for her acting chops, she should probably stop getting involved with married men. I know many like to blame the men, but she's just as guilty, if not more so, as she appears to be quite adept at seeking these relationships out.

Here's a radical concept. Stop screwing around with married men. That seems to be an idea lost on this generation of young adults.
