Is Michael Moore Leaving Documentaries Behind?
Michael Moore is leaving the documentary world behind! Okay, most people would say that he already has, because his form of "documentary" takes so very many narrative leaps, but he's honest-to-goodness looking for new pastures. Just over a month after Erik typed that Moore "isn't exactly moving on to the world of fiction," the director has told the Detroit News that his latest, Capitalism: A Love Story, might be his last documentary."While I've been making this film I've been thinking that maybe this will be my last documentary. ... I have been working on two screenplays over the last couple of years. One's a comedy, one's a mystery, and I really want to do this."
It's strange to think of Moore not being a documentarian, even if his films stretch the barrier between truth and fiction. Like, love, or loathe him, the man has made a ridiculously successful career uncovering stories and beating down the powers that be. But perhaps this was the path he's been on for a while. As Erik posted, Moore was comparing Capitalism to a vampire movie, so he's definitely got fiction on the brain.
Is Moore making the right move, and how do you think he'll fare when facing fiction? This isn't his first stab at it. Remember Canadian Bacon?

Michael Moore asked us to vote for Obama so that Obama might tax the rich into funding free health care for all.
I've asked Michael, a multi-millionaire a few times over, to contribute to my hefty medical bills as he'd once gifted Jim Kenefick, owner for the anti-Moore site, Moorewatch, with a new thousan bucks.
Neither Moore nor Kenefick want me to bring this matter up, anytime, anywhere

I think Mr. Moore can do it All. Have it all.
He might think he can walk away from being The most famous America story teller of them all !!!. He is a seeker of truth and justice and it is part of his D& A.
I guess only time will tell. But I can't really see him bailing on the American people. He has become a symbol of truth, he is the voice of the American people.
