'Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant' Trailer Premiere!

Are you tired of vampires yet? Between HBO's True Blood, the CW's upcoming The Vampire Diaries, and of course, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the bloodsuckers are getting a ton of exposure. But finally a trailer for Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant arises over at Moviefone to put a new spin on the genre. It manages to recall the carnival scenes from The Lost Boys, while finally giving us something besides moody vampires who just want to have sex with humans and complain about how hard it is being an undead denizen of the night.
We premiered the poster yesterday, but now you can check out Ken Watanbe in all that funky makeup, a bearded Salma Hayek, a freaky looking Willem Dafoe, and of course, John C. Reilly as probably the most refreshing vampire to appear on screen since ... well, since Bela Lugosi. This trailer actually has me excited about the movie, which is based on the first three of Darren Shan's excellent series of "The Saga of Darren Shan" books, and is definitely not your tired old "boo hoo it's hard to be a vamp" storyline.
Head beyond the jump to watch the trailer right here, or head over to watch it in HD over on Moviefone ... and get ready to get Freaked this October 23.

yep, I'm really sick of vampires by now. Bring on werewolves and other fantasy creatures. preferably the ones in the Shrek movies and Narnia and old fashioned fairy tale kind of stuff

i read all the books the story has changed a lot to the point where the ending of the series could go in a whole different direction. having said that i think the trailer looks like the movie is going to be pretty great , they didn't show much of the vampaneeze besides murlough, but once they come into play in the next movies the series will become full of action and story. people always seem to forget that john c. reilly is an oscar nominated actor. he was and will always be a serious actor as he proved in boogie nights and gangs of new york. he did comedy with will farrel and did dewey cox because he said it was what came his way. i think it will be interesting to see him in that retrospect again and think he will surprise everyone pleasantly. And while the vampire theme is very played out this movie is much more imaginative then a human girl trying to have sex with a vampire, that's just shitty writing. this movie is highly more imaginative and has more then just vampires, theres a wolfman, snakeboy, the little people will be interesting to see as well. There is plenty more then just vampires trust me.

are you all serious iv read all the books of the vampire series and this trailer shows that a load of the stuff from the books is changed or taken out its not the first thing in the trailer thats wrong but there is a second snap shot of madam octa as a purple blob thing that just looks stupid not dangerous the way darren gets the flyer for the c d f takes like half the first book away!! mr crepsley doesnt use proper english which is a big part to his character!! in the grave yard mr crepsley is supposed to fill the hole while darren trys to get the stiffness out and then gets treatened by steve and so many more!!!! IN THE TRAILER!!! im going into the movie thinking one thing this isnt going to be like the books its just another movie and if im right which i hope im not i hope they dont make more movies!!!

At last the film is here. I've read the whole series, they were fab, hope the film stays true to the book or it will be disappointing. My 11 year old son also loved the books and was hoping there would be a film, he cant wait to see it either.
