I'm just shocked that Blade's winning over the Rocketeer. Am I the only person who really didn't like Blade?
Oh well.

Even if people loved Blade, I'm surprised that they still don't prefer The Rocketeer. Its just an awesome movie.

Well, I like Rocketeer because it make me feel so classic to watch in clean instead horrible and awesome action. So, I vote Rocketeer.

I've actually watched Blade and The Rocketeer within the past year....and I can say for sure that Blade has not stood the test of time very well at all. It's like watching Power Rangers almost. Like it's a kids movie with blood in it.
The Rocketeer has the opposite effect, however. It's a Disney movie. But it's even more entertaining for me now that I'm older.
Really wish they'd redo The Rocketeer, btw, or do a sequel...would make an awesome animated series too.
I think this tournament would be better if all the films were screened. Of course that's not exactly possible lol.

Rocketeer was supposed to be a trilogy but it came out a week before Terminator 2 and was pretty much sunk at the box office. Too bad to because I think it had the potential to be a great series of films. Great cast, great characters, great time period. Man I love that film.

Blade deserves some credit for getting the Marvel train rolling, Wesley Snipes is a fun-to-watch badass, and the movie's not bad, exactly, but...
The Rocketeer is a great period piece, a great callback to old movies, a clever slipped-into-history story, AND a bang-up superhero origin story. Plus, a young Jennifer Connelly, hubba hubba.

I watched The Rocketeer last week. It really did hold up well with cast, period, VFX. Much better than Blade.
After my rewatching I have one gripe with The Rocketeer, he wasn't a badass. He never truly got the hang of flying as The Rocketeer, even at the climax he crash lands and slides down the zeppelin. The film's hero is so similar to Iron Man (just compare the posters!) except Iron Man got the hang of his equipment and rocked out.
I'd love to see a Rocketeer reboot... If Indiana Jones and Iron Man had a kid it'd be Cliff Secord.

Hellboy should beat out X-Men. Watch X-Men & Hellboy back-to-back and the better choice should be obvious. We all know X2 was the best one out of the trilogy anyway.
I liked The Rocketeer too, but I was 8 at the time and also thought Double Impact was an awesome movie.

I definitely voted for TMNT as well!!! Batman gets enough votes!!! Give the Turtles some love!!
Also... I REFUSE to vote between Unbreakable and Fantastic Four... Both are awful and neither are deserving of a vote.

For the love of god, please do not vote for Superman II. If they actually let Donner direct the whole movie, it could have been truly great.

I hear you. I'd vote for just about anything over Superman II ... well, not Elektra ... or Catwoman, but anything better than those.

Have you seen the Donner Cut? Because if not go buy it now. It is so good.

I'm going to have to slightly disagree with the Donner Cut... it's interesting, and I really enjoyed it up until the end, where the ending from Superman The Movie was cut in, and he makes the earth turn backwards. Again. Which, aside from being disappointing after an otherwise great cut, creates some plot holes that are never quite filled in.
Was it better than the Super-Clingwrap slapstick zaniness of the theatrical version? Yes. And it's great to see the material that Donner actually shot for the sequel in place. And I understand why the ending's tacked on like it is. AND I treasure my copy of the Donner cut, as a part of my collection. But for general-audience viewing, I just can't recommend it, since Donner used the time-warp ending on the first film. It just falls flat here.

I have the donner cut.. it's marginally better than the theatrical but hardly "so good". Spinning the earth backwards was silly enough the first time around.

Ah, now we get down to the hard ones. I'm sad that Mystery Men and Superman Returns will be leaving us. They are among my favorite movies. I did have to vote for Iron Man because it is my favorite superhero movie of all time, but I'm sad that it was paired with another of my favorites.
Also, I disagree about the comments about Superman II. First off, Hulk was horrible. I don't see how anyone can consider it a better movie. Also, I actually prefer the original version to the Donner version. I think the mix of visions worked well.

Personally, I'm rooting for the Incredibles to win it all. Far and away my favorite Pixar movie, and frame for frame, one of the best "hero" movies ever.
