Poll: Which Ridiculous 'Batman 3' Rumor Do You Want to See Come True?

As we crawl toward Labor Day Weekend, you may have noticed that news has slowed down considerably while Hollywood skips town for the last two weeks of August before dusting themselves off for the upcoming film festivals and awards season. So when it's a slow news time, you should expect some folks to take chances on a few crazy movie rumors in order to give them some nice traffic during an otherwise uneventful period. And what a better way to get traffic than to make up ridiculous rumors about the next Batman movie.
The latest rumors? Well, Britain's The Sun claims Megan Fox has been cast as Catwoman in the film. Yup ... and as I was writing that a pig flew past my window! Also, AICN (who, I'll admit, are definitely more legitimate than The Sun) claim there's a chance Christopher Nolan may shoot the next Batman flick using just IMAX cameras -- making it so the entire movie is in IMAX, instead of just a few key scenes like with The Dark Knight. Then again, there's also a chance Nolan will off a guy in the street with a machine gun while singing The Star Spangled Banner with two Twinkies hanging out his mouth ... but that doesn't mean it's actually going to happen.
These rumors, however, aren't much fun unless you collect them all together and vote on which one you'd actually like to see come true. So, because it's slow and because we love time-wasters, sound off below on which of the many Batman 3 rumors floating around online you'd like to see come true.

I just wanted to ad something here. When the first (the one with Michael Keaton) came out, there was a nasty rumor going around about the next batman flick. I read this in the National Enquirer & I had to laugh about it. Here's the rumor that was circulating at that time for the second Batman flick.
Bruce & Vicki get married. The Joker (who survived the fall at the end of the last flick) kidnaps her to make her fall in love with him. Vicki's long lost son comes home & becomes the Robin. Now here's the real kicker: Robin Williams was supposed to play robin!
Up til that point, I was almost buying it. But when Robin was supposed to be Vicki's long lost son & it turned out that Robin Williams was to play her son that totally just said to me...
Never in a million years!
Just thought a share.

Thats not what I remember, I think robin williams was rumored to be the riddler and micheal j. fox was to be robin. But your source was the enquirer so understandable, they make up what ever they want.

The whole thing's gonna be animated by Pixar. Only way to guarantee success.

I don't know, as much as I love PSH's work, I keep coming back to Paul Giamatti's work in Private Parts. I can see Giamatti's Penguin screaming at Batman, "YOU ARE THE MOTHERF**KING ANTI-CHRIST!!!!"

haha well it seems like you win. My girlfriend completely agrees with you. Paul would make a CRAZY batman character. And he has the previosu work to show. PSH would make an -interesting- character study of a batman character. lol

I don't find the Penguin terribly compelling. Yes, he's probably one of the three most famous Batman villains. That doesn't make him interesting.
I wouldn't mind seeing a continuation of the Joker, with the character recast, but it would never happen. Someone else could leave their mark on it but no one would want to (plus it'd be a PR disaster.)

Truthfully they already have a way to recast the Joker. He's in Arkham after Batman runs off. An out-of-control inmate is jealous of the Joker's power and kills him, taking his place.
They could even reproduce Heath's voice and have them talking through a wall, never showing "the Joker."
I guess though that they'd have to have him cut his smile in first.

I always looked at each of the "main" Batman foes as challenging one of Batman's major traits or character.
Joker challenges Batman's ethics and belief systems; Riddler challenges Batman's intelligence and detective skill.
I mean, what is a riddle but a puzzle. And what is another type of puzzle? A clue.
HOWEVER, both seem to fall on the same side of the coin; being egotistical, psychotic criminals (Joker obviously more so than Riddler). Joker is crime as chaos and anarchy; Riddler is crime as vanity statement or signature.
Catwoman and Penguin are still crime as a pursuit for money and power.
just a thought.

Personaly, I thought they should have changed the ending in Dark Knight so that the Joker DID fall to his death. (That way, there wouldn't have been an issue with "recasting the character.")
The Penguin never was all that interesting, but I'm sure a respectable actor (IE: Hoffman) could change that.
The only problem I see with the Riddler as the next villain, is that he's so close to being the Joker. (Always has been)

No one will or ever should recast the character, at least not Nolan, and at least, not for another two decades.

I'm still trying to start a movement for Tilda Swinton as The Riddler.

I think recasting Joker NOW is a bad idea so anyone who said otherwise I think is foolish. As much as I like Hoffman and Depp I don't think they'd play well with the way this series is moving, Hoffman especially. I have always been a supporter of casting solid no name actors in films like this so I'm not distracted the whole time with "Hey that's Johnny Depp." Sure, they'd both be great, I just don't think they'd mesh.
The movie being shot in IMAX has its ups and downs. Up mainly for us, downs mainly for Nolan and his crew who have to deal with 70mm film and large, loud cameras. Amazing footage though.

Recast the Joker now. There's a handful of talented actors who could do the job -- and the job would not be to "give their own take on the character" but to portray the character as it's been established.

I was pretty torn between Depp as the Joker, and Hoffman as the Penguin. I think either of them would kill the role, but knowing Nolan, he will probably keep it low key with whoever he casts for whatever role.

I'd have to say I voted for Paul as The Penguin. I think he could play the role darker than Hoffman. Truthfully DeVito's Penguin was the most interesting character in the 90s Batman movies.
A little less camp with Giamatti's sly smile....

Hey, Batman's got other villains beside the Joker, guys. It's not all about him. It's not necessary or wise that his character come back.
Also, I voted for Hoffman/Penguin.
