Susan Sarandon to Hit 'Wall Street 2'
Filed under: Drama, Casting, Remakes and Sequels
Money never sleeps and Shia LaBeouf gets such great cinematic parents. Variety reports that Susan Sarandon is in negotiations to join Oliver Stone's Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. And with that, we've got yet another reason to wonder if #2 will boast one of the best casts of 2010. Should she sign on the dotted line, Sarandon will play Shia LaBeouf's mom. As we've already learned, he's playing a new Wall Street trader who "falls under the seductive influence of Gordon Gekko." Frankly, I'd much rather Susan fall for Gordon's seductive charms, but that would be an entirely different movie.
As it stands, Ms. Sarandon only gets to play mom again -- hopefully with some dramatic flair and not just motherly concern. But as all of these great names sign on, are any of you worrying about the project more? I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but LaBeouf has inspired a solid stream of skepticism once he hit it big, and now he's going to star in a highly anticipated film surrounded by a lot of beloved, uber-talented names. There will be no action to fill in the blanks, no explosions (one would assume) to distract us from any unevenness. Can he really hold his own against Sarandon, Michael Douglas, Frank Langella, and the rest?

shia is definately the weak link in the cast, and the biggest reason why i'm not too hyped for the movie, or about the cast. the cast for Inception definitely looks a whole lot better...

Thinking about it, I'd have to say Shia did good work in Eagle Eye. He had to nail the scene where he jumps on the desk and fires the gun and he did.
He showed the right amount of regret and necessity and sacrifice.

Shia has done solid work in Eagle Eye, Disturbia, and yes, even Transformers.
I think he's got the chops to rise to the challenge. He hasn't had a lot asked of him so far, and there hasn't been any indication to me that he isn't capable of turning in a great performance in a less action-oriented movie.

yeah, transformers is cheesy and so was the last indy movie, but watch shia's movies "the greatest game ever played" and "the battle of shaker heights" and you won't be asking that question anymore.

No matter how good the other actors are, I will not pay my hard earned money to watch ANYTHING with Sarandon, Penn, Robinson, or any other left wing America hater in it. Their political opinions are free speech, but when they start trashing my country, America, Hell will freeze over before I see their movies.

I am with you! Pathetic puke liberals think their Acting is the most important profession in the World. Entertain us and keep your demented opinions to your self. They are so high and mighty they need to impose their lack of belief system on all the rest of us. Sadly, the many conservative actors can't get jobs in Hellywood if they use the same medium as the Liberals to get their belief across. Rob Reiner meathead will blackball them.

Hollywood is all onto the next "celeb" and thinks he's great in EVERYTHING! Give us a break. IIt's just about money to them, not the art. Shia LaBeouf is good at acting, however, not in this role! We don't want to see him in every movie, like Tom Cruz....

Saradon is a shit-bum. She prefers (along) with her Moron boyfriend to contunue to make "Bastards" out of children. She states marriange is nothing but a piece of paper. Try telling that to the friends of her kids who refer to them as bastards. Strictly Hollywood. Hollywood morons know better than anyone; they make up their own rules (which are none) there are no rules, everything goes, if a baby squirts out so what, just another bastard in this world!

As usual, comments made about Sarandon without knowing anything. Read her biography. She's all about saving the underdog; the hungry, impoverished, manipulated, abused, used and exploited. Her causes go unnoticed...she doesn't feel the need to advertise her beliefs - as Jolie does - but serves soup kitchens, helps children in poor countries, etc in private...a true humanitarian. If that makes her 'left wing' then there is something wrong with you. The blind preaching to the blind.

Do you have parents that are married - or at least were married at your birth?
Doesn't matter, does it? You're a bastard anyway. And uncouth and vulgar. So, that makes you an authoritarian on 'bastardization', right?
And- FYI she's not 'Hollywood'. She doesn't even live in California, bastard.

Susan Sarandon Rocks. She is beautiful and talent and quite the humanitarian. I crack up at the people who always bring politics into forum. We are talking about a talented actress. If you don't like her politics, fine. Just don't hurl accusations and drama. It only makes you look ANGRY AND UNLOVEABLE.
Your anger hurts your soul and effects everyone around you. Please get help for yourself. There are enough angry people like you going postal on everyones ass who do not agree with your version of things. Don't worry about Susan, Sean and Robin and Tim. Help yourself !
