A Small Collection of Klaus Kinski Outbursts

One of the best things about YouTube is that you can find bizarre treasures that fans have lovingly transferred from VHS or Betamax for your viewing pleasure. One of the most fascinating crazycakes actors of all time, Klaus Kinski, is in full effect on YouTube, so I've gathered a few of his most fabulous outbursts for your viewing pleasure. Author Dennis Cooper has also excerpted on his blog some of the more choice quotes he found online from one of Kinski's books, All I Need is Love. He certainly wasn't lacking for sex, since Kinski, despite his looks and batty tendencies -- or perhaps because of them? -- had a way with the ladies. But I digress. If you think Abel Ferrara's choice words for Herzog, Kinski's frequent collaborator and frenemy, was bad, check this out:

Acording to Herzog, the "natives" were so horrified by Kinski, they offered to kill him.
But in the end, Klaus is a gentle butterfly.

Anyway, Jenni - in Herzog's doc on Kinski that you mentioned, My Best Fiend, Herzog jokes about the fact that he and Kinski made up a bunch of the horrible things that Kinski said about Herzog. Kinski asked Herzog to help him think up terrible things to say so the book would sell better.
I haven't read the book but I assume that quote is some of the made-up stuff.

I am thankful for every frame of work these two men managed to create together. Kinski was amazing and the five films he did with Herzog are among my favorites. Hat's off to Herzog for patiently getting the very best from Kinski and handing it over to us.
