The Best Superhero Movie of ALL TIME Tournament! Round #8!

The first big battles are done! Here's how the last round went down: Richard Donner's Superman smacked down Tim Burton's Batman Returns! Spider-Man 2 made easy work of Hellboy 2! The Dark Knight obliterated the 1989 Batman! (I'll say.) And in a wonderfully strange semi-upset, Pixar's The Incredibles finished off those angst-ridden Watchmen! Congrats to those winners, and let's move on...

Batman Begins (2005) vs. X-Men (2000)

Blade (1998) vs. Unbreakable (2000)

Superman 2 (1980) vs. Spider-Man (2002)

X2: X-Men United (2003) vs. Iron Man (2008)
We'll be back on Monday ... when things really begin to get interesting.

People seem to have forgotten how good X-Men 2 was. Iron Man is a fantastic film by X-Men 2 is close to being the best super hero film of all time.

Amen. "Iron Man" was and is hugely overrated.

The jump in how much better the second X-Men movie is to the first is the same as The Dark Knight is to Batman Begins. It just took everything to another level.
The first one was good, but then when you see the second, suddenly the first one doesn't seen as great anymore. Maybe the third one's failure made everyone forget how great the second one was.
I don't know if I would say it may be the best superhero movie ever, The Dark Knight and original Superman are better in my humble opinion, but yes, it should be in the discussion somewhere. Easy top 4 or 5. Better than any of the Spiderman movies.

Man, Unbreakable had better not beat Blade... There is no comparison... Unbreakable should be called Unwatchable...

I hear you on this one. Blade was the start of so many good things from the comic turned movie & marvel's blockbusters.
Blade!

I agree X2 > Iron Man and I would take Superman II over Spider-Man any day.

I completely agree, with the previous commenters. While Iron Man was a great summer popcorn flick, X2 was a great film, which is something that Iron Man just did not accomplish. It would easily be my choice to come out of this bracket.
COME ON PEOPLE!!!
VOTE X2!!!

Wow, I have to admit I'm surprised and a little bummed to see Unbreakable beating Blade. I mean, to each their own opinion, but I didn't see that one coming. It will be interesting to see if that holds up.

I'm surprised I voted against both XMen movies... Batman Begins vs the first one was pretty easy, but in the end, while I thought X2 was definitely one of the best superhero movies, I can also say the same about Iron Man. Regardless of my preference (tho I expected X2 to win this round), I think Iron Man is benefiting from being such a recent movie.
I've always been a Spider-Man fan (since I was a kid) so I'll admit I'm biased on that one and leave it at that.
Oh, and Unbreakable was so much better than Blade.

I completely agree with you. These results are a function of the recency of the films - why Iron Man beats X2 (also because X3 sucked so bad that it may have tarnished people's view of the previous one). And the same is true for Spider-Man beating Superman 2... Only in special effects and not at all in plot or originality. I think that is also affected by the age of the people responding to this - perhaps many people under 30 haven't even seen Superman 2...

Iron Man is better than X2, but it probably does have the benefit of being more recent
Unbreakable is def. better than the first Blade, while I can understand peoples hostility towards M. Night, Unbreakable was one of his better films
In my opinion, superman 2 beats spider man hands down, but I might be a bit biased because I didnt like the spiderman films as everyone else seems to.......

In light of everyone's comments about X-2 and Iron Man... I went with IM, but it was a very tough choice.
Also, while Superman II introduced probably the best villain in a superhero movie until last summer, I thought over all it was very disjointed and not that impressive.
