Rest in Peace, Patrick Swayze

Recently, the National Enquirer swore that Patrick Swayze had taken a turn for the worse and was heading home to die. I didn't write it up because I didn't want to believe it, and comforted myself in the fact that the Enquirer is far from a reliable source for information. However, while he may have been valiantly fighting pancreatic cancer and working until almost the end, now the AP reports that Patrick Swayze has passed away at the age of 57. In a statement released by publicist Annett Wolf: "Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months."
Swayze's career started back in 1979, when he played Ace Johnson in Skatetown, U.S.A. But it wasn't until The Outsiders in 1983 that he started to make the waves, stealing young girls hearts with his portrayal of Darrel Curtis. Then came Red Dawn, Youngblood, and the epic miniseries North and South, each paving the way for the film that made him an indelible icon, a man we would never forget -- Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing. Pulling Baby out of the corner, he became a tried and true star. Ghost, of course, followed soon after, and then things petered off. But he didn't stop working. He had an amazing stint as the eerie Jim Cunningham in Donnie Darko, and even as he fought the cancer, he showed up in Powder Blue and The Beast. He seemed unbeatable...
Patrick, you're missed ... and this is for you ...

Today is an extremely sad day, because I had strong faith that Patrick Swayze would fight the Beast called cancer, but alas it was not to be.
True, he may have been a fine actor, but what resounds very strongly about him, unlike most Hollywood stars is the fact that he stayed married to the same woman for 34 years until death did him apart. And they loved each other to death.
Also he was a deeply spiritual person till the very end and was true to his spirit.
My deepest condolences to his wife Lisa and the rest of his family and close friends.
May God Rest his soul and grant him eternal peace and happiness.
And like the line from Ghost, when he died, he took the love away with him.

His disease is just the toughest cancer.
I don't understand why life is so cruel, especially with our beloved star.
I hope you rest in peace.

Patrick you were a great Actor and also true husband to your wife of 34 years you will be sorely missed. May you rest in peace and my deepest condolences to your wife and your family ... this is just such a sad day. What a brilliant Dancer you were in the movies you also did a movie called the Last Dance which was great I saw it about a year ago. You are truly an Actor that will never be forgotten in a class of your own. Thanks for the joy you did give us in both your acting and Dancing skills on screen.
May you Rest In Peace

it's criminal that neither Point Break nor Road House were mentioned in this article.
CRIMINAL.
and even though i hate the show, can anyone tell me why Swayze never did Dancing With the Stars? talk about a no brainer.
from the immortal Sir Mix-a-lot:
"the whole swap meet went crazy ... i'm sockin' more fools than Patrick Swayze."
indeed, RIP.

Apart from his films, I rather loved Patrick Swayze for the beautiful sad song "She's like the Wind", which he wrote and sang for "Dirty Dancing".
Rest in Peace, Patrick Swayze.

Lisa - Our thoughts & prayers are with you. Patrick was
such a warm & loving person, a person is able to tell that
just by the movies "Dirty Dancing & Ghost". Those 2 movies are my favorite of all time.
I know you will miss him so very much but my belief is
that you will meet again in heaven. You are now facing the
hardest time of your life but the way Patrick talked about you
I know you will be able to do it especially with everyone behind you. You know he is no longer hurting!
Best of luck & again our prayers are with you.
