Monday Night Poll: Can Megan Fox Act?

We know she has breasts, though the unveiling of their full bared glory remains, teasingly, for the future. We know she likes to kiss boys and girls. We know she has a face to die for, as several unlucky victims discovered this weekend in Jennifer's Body. But can Megan Fox act?
Cast in her first lead role as iconic small-town cheerleader Jennifer, Fox certainly sashays well. As directed by Karyn Kusama, Fox looks terrific in slow motion, walking down a high school hallway like it was a catwalk, or emerging from a refreshing skinny dip, smiling secretly because she knows all eyes are upon her. Her lips and tongue look very kissable in extreme close-up. Even when she looks "bad," it's still better than most could hope for, as her ostensible BFF Needy (Amanda Seyfried) observes. When called upon to emote, however, Fox says lines -- scripted by Oscar-winner Diablo Cody -- without any deep conviction or sincerity, as though she were a TV spokesperson introducing a commercial break: "We'll be right back after these important messages!" Even when her character is involved in life-and-death struggles, she comes across as breathy and vapid, drawing less upon her soul and more upon presenting her best angle to the camera. I think her co-star Amanda Seyfried blows her off the screen.
But that's just my opinion. (Cinematical's Jenni Miller has a different opinion of the movie, while our reviewer Todd Gilchrist called her "fanboy catnip," which seems about right.) What do you think? Can Megan Fox act her way out of a paper bag? Or has she just gotten an unfair rap because of her beauty and outspoken behavior? Vote in our poll and sound off in the comments!

No, she can't act. But she's not a model either -- she's 5'5", several inches short of the standard fashion height. Maybe she could be a glamour or Playboy model.. but they aren't really real models either.
Where's the choice for neither?

I actually thought she did pretty good in this movie and I enjoyed it better than most I have seen lately. She was perfect for the part and there were some good laughs.

Model?? She rarely looks that good, she can't figure out that the stick straight hair with the middle part is ugly and aging, then there is the defiling of her body. You don't see Cindy Crawford or Giselle Brady with a middle part every day or tattoos.

Amanda is far superior. She will have a career. Megan will go as far as Jessica Alba.

I recently saw a picture of her before she had her nose and lips done. She looks pretty, but average, and definitely wouldn't be getting all the attention she's getting now. A good nose job might be able to change her appearance for the better, but there's nothing in the world that can change her narcissistic attitude. I agree with the person who said as soon as her looks are gone, she'll be gone.

She showed promise in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. I haven't seen a movie where she has had a chance to do much. Many serious actresses - like Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst - have started out as eye candy. There's a long list of classic examples - Marilyn Monroe wasn't appreciated as an actress until after she passed away.
But from what I've heard about her, she's very full of herself, and doesn't have the dedication or intelligence of those ladies.
Anyway, for now I've also got a shorter answer: Who cares if she can act, I'll watch her anyway.
Exudes sex appeal on camera to a high degree.

Eye candy, nothing more. She's from the Maxim/ Jessica Alba school of acting - which is to say, look pretty, star in dumb films aimed at teens. Throw in some tattoos just to show some edge. And from what I have seen of her in interviews as well as what I have read - which, admittedly may have been untrue, depending on who you believe (yes, I am referring to the Bay feud) - she seems like an intensely vapid human being. All career maneuvering with little talent or humility.

But she comes across as one of those totally unapproachable bitches you remember from high school who ended up marrying a jock and working as a secretary for the rest of her life, all the while thinking that she is god's gift.
Then there's someone like Jessica Biel, who is wicked hot and, even though 99.999999999999999999% of the male population would never have a shot at even talking to her, she doesn't come across as a spoiled, uptight, bitchy, conceited wanna-be like Megan does.
