Is 'Sex and the City 2' Planning a Big Gay Wedding?

Filed under: Comedy, Romance, RumorMonger, Remakes and Sequels

When you're taking a series with a bunch of seasons, a never-ending parade of side characters and romances, and a central cast of four women and their significant others, lots of things get cut, like solid big-screen time for Stanford (Willie Garson) and Anthony (Mario Cantone). While the first film threw them a few brief bones (sorry for the pun), it looks like Sex and the City 2 is cooking up more, if the latest rumors are to be believed. And this is where I tell you to stop reading if you don't want spoilers. (Although really -- if you got this far and are trying to stay spoiler free, you're doing a crappy job of reading headlines.)

Anyway... Just Jared reports that In Touch has some spiffy source that reveals big things for Anthony and Stanford in the sequel currently filming. While there have been some potentially spoilerish pictures of Kim Cattrall in a wedding dress, sources say that was just a ruse. (Thank god ... would they really bring Smith back after the great sushi fiasco of Part One?) Rumor has it that the happy new man couple are tying the knot -- with the creme de la creme of officiants: Liza Minelli. "Producers are planning the ultimate gay wedding. They already signed Liza and now they're in secret talks with Barbra Streisand about being a wedding guest!"

Then, if this sequel works well, they can marry off the last of them, dear, single Samantha, and be done with it all.
