Guttenberg, Danson and Selleck = 'Three Men and a Bride'
Filed under: Comedy, Romance, Disney, RumorMonger, DIY/Filmmaking, Newsstand, Remakes and Sequels
We are now in the age of the 20-year-old sequel. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Wall Street 2, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Beverly Hills Hop 4, The Untouchables: Capone Rising. It hasn't been "too long," it isn't awkward to go back. It'll make you feel young again! Now we've reached the pinnacle of past grabs, as WENN is reporting that Steve Guttenberg, Tom Selleck, and Ted Danson are reuniting for Three Men and a Bride. "Disney's developing Three Men and a Bride. That's going to be a smash. A smash hit. They're bringing everybody back for that," says Guttenberg. "Nobody knows about it. I'm the first to talk about it."
Guttenberg might just become king of the It's Never To Late To Return! movement, as he dreams of reviving all of his past franchises. "It's definitely time for another Police Academy. And I think they could make another Cocoon. They're surefire hits and I think they're good for the world. They make the world a better place and that's what it's all about." Hopefully, he's not setting his hopes on reviving Short Circuit, as that has become someone else's dream to live. But I think there were a lot of unanswered questions about The Day After, and nothing's trendier than the apocalypse. It's only been twenty-five years ....

"Nobody knows about it. I'm the first to talk about it." Steve is the first to talk about it because the project does not exist outside of his imagination....

Humans are desperate, and that includes the idiots that thought this was something that was needed. Can it really be said that not only is this needed, but also capable of making money?
I am frequently amazed and reminded every day that the folks putting money into projects should be evaluated for their ability, rather than their willingness to depart with money--both their own and someone elses.

I'm going to be the only one who thinks this is a good idea. To be honest, I watched Cocoon the other night and I'd like to see Guttenberg in movies again. He's right, Cocoon would make good sequel material.
Regarding Three Men..., Although the fellas are kind of old now, I'd see it. I've got news for you, Selleck and Danson have a lot of fans. Granted, most of them are still using AOL dial up to check their email, but nonetheless, they do exist.

I think it's actually a good idea too. However, Mr. Guttenberg statements came across as...odd.

I find it difficult to believe that Ted Danson would be on board for this. He's got better things to do.
But if they make it, I propose they throw a real twist into the mix: instead of marrying off the daughter to some generic young guy, like those FATHER OF THE BRIDE movies, the plot should focus on the troubled love affair between the girl and Tom Selleck.

I'd much rather see a sequel to Big Trouble in Little China.

Oh please Jareth, they're not going to add a Springeresque love affair between a girl and the man her mother married. That's not the Disney style.
PA8 I could take or leave, but I love it that they're bringing Three Men back.
