Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo Set for Another 'Vacation'
Filed under: Comedy, Fandom, Home Entertainment

While the wheels on the Wagon Queen Family Truckster are still in motion with regards to a brand new Vacation film as told through the eyes of Clark Griswold's son Rusty and his family (which New Line is currently working on alongside David Dobkin), the original Clark and Ellen Griswold (Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, respectively) will be making a return appearance this February on the small screen as part of a Superbowl commercial for HomeAway vacation rentals.
Yup, Chase and D'Angelo will be reprising their characters for a commercial that US Weekly says will pay homage to the 1983 original film, National Lampoon's Vacation. Says Chase, "To this day, people ask me, 'When is the next Vacation movie?" So I'm sure everyone will get a kick out of seeing the Griswolds and their misadventures once again." D'Angelo adds, "Clark and Ellen have one of the most enduring marriages ever to come out of Hollywood. I am thrilled that HomeAway is reuniting Chevy and me." Aside from Chase and D'Angelo, the TV spot will also reportedly feature an exact replica of the iconic station wagon featured in first film.
Though it's not exactly a big-screen reunion for the original Griswold parents, it'll be fun to see them back together again for what I hope will be an entertaining Superbowl spot. And, hey, I guess after watching that we'll know whether or not we want them back for cameo appearances in the next Vacation movie, too.

I guess that's neat.
I gotta vent my frustration for a moment: I really wish that this site had a more active community. I want to discuss, to read others' opinions!
Bah.
Well, I'm with ya, Cinematical.

CHEVY - We will not forget the cruel and personal attacks that you have supported against Sarah Palin. My family and I have lost all respect and interest in anything you say or do. And we take the opportunity to tell others about your comments, most of whom entirely agree with us. I hope your movie is a lukewarm flop. You've alienated half of America.

Well, to be fair, the approval rating of Palin was less than 50% for Americans, and I think as well for Republicans. I don't want to get into a political debate, but I'm fairly certain that is correct.

Nevermind, I stand corrected. I probably should have done a quick fact check before posting, sorry about that.

I agree with you, his talent is minimal and most people hate the vacation movies. I don't mind the movies, but I am sick and tired of the low-level attacks on Sarah Palin. There is just no limit to how low they will go with their visciousness. Enough already! It goes to show you how intimidated they are by her.

I agree with the comment about Chevy. How cruel can you be when some new person comes onto the national scene that most closely represents the average working American family, and then, as Chevy did, states on national TV that he hopes the media "just destroys her". Chevy, I know you will read this comment, so just know that I used to really like you. But now that I know who you really are, my family and I are done with you.

You're a loser Chevy. Sarah has done so much for the citizens of her state, and you've done little more than act stupid. Look at your latest tv commercial about that new phone, all you do is pretend you're retarded by not pusing he buttons properly the dropping it. My family won't forget your comments against Sarah Palin either. You're cruel, stupid, and not in touch with all of us, the silent conservative hard-working majority. Well, we're not going to be silent any more. Jerk.

I'd love to see another Vacation movie, with the Griswolds as grandparents. Lots of potential there.
As for you Palin people, give me a break. If you'd bother to do even the smallest bit of fact-checking or look at the situation with any kind of rational thought you'd see that she's not only impossibly dumb ("I can see Russia from my yard!") but an amazing liar. There's a world outside of Fox News--it's called Reality. Have a look, you might like it!
