Celebs Return to Their Most Iconic Roles for Photo Shoot
.jpg)
To celebrate their 20th birthday, Empire Magazine invited a whole ton of actors and actresses to ever-so-briefly reprise their most iconic roles for a pretty cool photo shoot. Curious to see what Arnold Schwarzenegger would look like now if he donned those famous black sunglasses and threw on his best badass pose for a photo in front of a motorcycle? Or what about wanting to see Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster reunited for the first time since the Oscar-winning Silence of the Lambs?
Other cool photo ops include Mel Gibson wearing face paint in honor of Braveheart, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost looking back at Shaun of the Dead, Christian Bale returning to his American Psycho days, Ben Stiller showing us all that Zoolander totally deserves a sequel, Gerard Butler giving us his best 300 roar, Laurence Fishburne calling back Morpheus and more. It's a pretty cool idea, even if Tom Cruise's most iconic role is certainly not Minority Report (20 bucks says Empire couldn't get him to wear that Top Gun jacket). Check out some of the images below and the rest over at Empire.

Agreed on Tom Cruise. It's either that or they couldn't get him into his shirt and drawers and have him slide across the room.

Arnold is the man. One of those shots isn't even a character. It's just him, sitting in a hummer, smoking a cigar as himself.

I guess they couldn't get Keira Knightly to dress up in her pirates get up either. Atonement is certainly not her most iconic role. Also, where is Sly as Rocky or Rambo. The other actor I really miss is Steven Segal as Steven Segal.

Ha- it would have been much cooler to see Tom sliding across the floor in his undies, but I guess that would be asking too much.

Let's see, Empire is celebrating their 20th anniversary, so they are celebrating by having actors recreate their iconic roles ... from the past 20 years. Thus, no "Top Gun" (1986) or "Risky Business" (1983).

wouldn't Christian Bale's most Iconic role in the past 20 years be Batman? American Phsyco is a pretty intense movie and not somthing everyone has seen or eve heard of i think.

The guy who took the shots is an idiot.
You cna see that ALL actors , no exception, are havign a very bad time and make faces.
Its incredible!
they cant all of them had a bad day each time rigth?
Then what is wrong with that photographer?
all pics came out as beign VERY cold and menaingless and out of place. Totaly OUT OF CHARACTER!
WHAT THE HECKL WAS THAT PHOTOGRAPHER THINKING??
the painting of wallace, Braveheart, are extremely bad made and its nto even the color! its 10 shades darker!
EW!
All of them come across akward.
its ugly.
For such a thing, they shoudl have pic a photographer that knew what he was about to shoot and had the rigth thing to do it and told the actors about it in advance.
From what i can see they didnt have a clue!
Even an amator with a cellphone cam wil ahve done better!
Under all critic!
What about editrors and all people those pics went through?
wasnt it at least ONE that notice it was all wrong and stoped it?
It must have pased into alot of hands, they should ahve done it differently
all pics are kind of blue, dark, sad, cold.
Your sure its an anniversay?
Looks to me like a serie for a burrial. :(

Wow, you're right, the blue on Gibson's face is way too dark! Wait a minute, I'm not even sure that Wallace wore a suit and tie in Braveheart either! And Hannibal Lector is on the same side of the glass as Clarice! Didn't the photographer know that he would kill her and then wear her face?!
Totally out of character!!
*sarcasm implied*

IT just doesnt do it if he really wanted to do soemhting as settign the same actor in the same scene as eyars back, he should have done somehting more appropriate.
its too fake.
none of the actors are emgaged in it oyu can see they are all of thme totlay wierd like they were dead sad or soemthing and as they didnt met all of them ofr one day photo session, must have been something the photographer did, soem effect he had on them by the way he was doing his stuff.
al of them seems ot be uncomfortable like they didnt knew what they were doing here.
Mel Gibsin even seems embarassed and its true that wearing a suit didnt help .
it make it all out of place.
they are not "in it" at all.
in fact its kind of creepy, all the shots are.

@Ocean:
God, you're a nitwit. A passionate one, but a nitwit all the same.
As the Empire gallery _CLEARLY_ indicates, the photos in this series were taken by... um... I count at least 5 or 6 DIFFERENT photographers.
So *you're* expecting ME to believe that they ALL were poor artists who made their subjects uncomfortable?
I think it's clear who the real "amator" is around here.

they were all amotors the 5 of them,.
5 bad ones cant make a good thing. and oyu need only one to spoil it all for the rest..
its ugly thats all.
that atmosphere will have been ideal to make a shot of Mel Gibson as in Payback. But not as William Wallace..
the light an dblue too was perfect.
i dotn se why you defend those shit.
they did an ugly job period!
you want ot be blind, fine.
but dont expect me to willingly suddendly refuse to see jsut to accomodate your handicape.
Learn form those who can their stuff, not form those who dont know shit.
