'Entourage' Movie in the Works?
Filed under: Comedy, RumorMonger, Newsstand, Home Entertainment

Tired of watching a group of horny male Hollywood-somethings bounce around to various Los Angeles hot spots and make fun of each other while beautiful, half-naked wannabee models-turned-actresses try to have sex with them on the small screen? Don't you think this sort of entertainment deserves the big-screen treatment? Well you may be in luck, as Entourage producer Mark Wahlberg recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the show only has two seasons left under its current contract, and while there could be more seasons of boring plotlines in our future, the possibility of ending it on the big screen is very much alive.
Wahlberg's exact quote: "We'll see; there could be more. But then, a movie." Not much to go on, and this wouldn't be the first television show to tease a potential trip to the big screen, but in reality it is the one that makes the most sense. You'd think a show that was all about Hollywood and movies would stage their final send off on the big screen. It just seems like the obvious choice. Of course, the writing on the current show kinda sucks, so it's hard to imagine a full-length Entourage movie being anything beyond an extended collection of shallow, egocentric pieces of random nothingness. I mean, seriously, do you watch the show? Nothing ever happens! This past season it took I don't know how many episodes (13?) for someone to actually get engaged. And that was like the biggest thing to happen on the show in its history. A freaking engagement!
So, yeah, if Entourage wants to make a successful run at the big screen, then they need to up the ante, give us a plot that's more than Vince maybe-kinda-sorta doing a film that he loves and Ari hates (or vice versa), and give us a reason to actually care about these characters for once.
Thoughts?

Thank you. I'm glad people are calling this show out for what it is: empty characters doing empty things and a lot of the time, nothing at all. It's not like "Always Sunny" where the characters are bad people, but they do hilarious things..."Entourage" is shallow people doing things that are neither funny nor insightful.

This past season was the worst one so far. I can see how people wouldn't like the show, but in the past I've never really had much of a problem with it being slow-moving or the characters not evolving. It's escapism. And, for the most part, it was fun.
In fact, it wasn't until they tried to blatantly evolve all of the characters at once (except Vince) that the show went downhill for me. We don't really want to see these guys grow up and become responsible. That's not escapism anymore, it's real life.

It's a good show, bad shows don't go on for 5 + seasons, Bad shows Don't get nominated for Emmy's & Golden Globes, Bad shows don't entertain...This show......Mr. Davis.... is F U N, it's all that it is & it's all that it's supposed to be.
Trust me, there much worse shows out there that make no sense & that wish they had the Following, Ratings & Longetivity that Entourage does.
Turtle coming of age & deciding he wants more out of Life, E finally deciding to get some Cojones & doing what's best for him ie: closing his business, taking the Job offer at the Agency, deciding to not let go of his true love & risking looking like a fool by proposing.
Drama finally getting the break his been searching for, & Vincent....well he's Vince.
And Lloyd......Finally getting his due after all that he went through, specially this past season.....C'mon, please don't comment just cause you're on the Hateroade.
Trust me, I'm being nice here, but I do have to say that your above comments are beyond pathetic, but I'll keep on lovin Cinematical

The only kind of Entourage movie I'd like to see is a movie about them actually shooting a movie (a la Day for Night, Contempt, and about a million other great films). Don't they always end the seasons just as Vinnie's about to go off to a shoot? Now show us the shoot.
Or, I'd like to see them actually make one of the movies that Vinnie has made or is going to make, like James Cameron's Aquaman.
But two hours of them just hanging out would be terrible. I guess the Sex and the City movie was a success, though, and Entourage is just a male version of that show.

Entourage has been, up until this past season, a great show. what do you mean nothing happens? what do you want to see from a show that is about hollywood? I think they give us exactly what we ask for, money, women and fun. Was the studio head that died of a heart attack on the gold course nothing? was firing ari nothing? was falling in love with mandy moore nothing? Entourage was successful because it took the life of a rising actor and showed us how he lives his daily life. And you know what, its AWESOME! Until this last season, Entourage showed an actor go to parties, movie premiers, agent meetings, parties, clubs, movie sets, and just random things like going to the store or out to eat, all with his best friends and money never being a problem. Its a fantasy show and they were great at writing cool, somewhat realistic plots that guys like me wish we could bein. the show had cool music, big names, and lots of hot women. I agree this last season sucked, im the first one to admit it, literally nothing happened. But 1-5 were great and you really felt attached to the characters. there is no one on the show that people "hate" and want to see fail. everyone wants to see ari yell at someone, vince make another hit, drama finally get respect, e get some balls, and turtle get laid. the audience only cares about these things because the writing was sharp and creative in its chronology. I still love the show and am more than willing to give it another shot in 2010

This show is bubblegum, it is not a full meal. It's fun at times, a nice little 24 minute diversion that will not hold up as a movie. It also does not have the rabid fanbase that "SATC" does, and that was a terrible movie. If they want to make a movie out of it to wrap it up, it should air directly on HBO. None of the guys in it are marquis draws, including Jeremy Piven. Bad idea. Wahlberg thinks more of his little series than he probably should.

It is essentially Sex and the City for guys. Take that whatever way you want. I enjoy it, I thought season six was pretty good (I think better than 5) because they didn't focus too much on Vince but gave the other characters room to breathe. What they need to do next is get out of L.A. on an extended arc. Come to vancouver or something. Close enough to make certain story lines work (like Ari having to stay behind to work) and it would be quite logical for Vince to come here to shoot a film.
So some ideas for season 7.
Vince hops a plane to Vancouver to guest star in a TV pilot featuring Drama. Turtle rides shotgun, Ari and Vince have a falling out over the fact that Ari hates TV. E and Sloan...well they stay behind and do the wedding thing.
