Watch This: At Home with Corky Nemec
Oh, Corin Nemec. He soared to great heights with Parker Lewis Can't Lose, before quickly losing his tenuous grip on superstardom. But he never really went away on the big or small screen. We can't forget his classic Operation Dumbo Drop, Stargate SG-1, or National Lampoon's Robodoc -- a film he not only starred in, but also produced. But back in the day -- the early '90s to be exact -- things were going well. He'd had a big role in Francis Ford Coppola's Tucker: The Man and His Dream, was starring in a hit teen show, and had fancy technology coming to chill in "At Home with Corky Nemec." This super-strange interview, which you can see after the jump, sees the actor show his living room, kitchen, and bedroom. But it's not just some simple, boring Q&A. This strange, older TV woman pops onto his television, wondering what he's doing. Then she jumps over to his hand-held TV device and he carries her around, showing her how he likes to make Gumby sandwiches (no, I'm not kidding), thinks he's unique by melting wax over a skull, and even keeps a Bob's Big Boy menu taped to his wall so he can "think about what I wanna have for dinner, and then think about what I'm gonna have for dinner."
I don't know where it aired, or how I missed this, but talk about '90s insanity. ...Then again, there's something sweet about a time when famous young people could be awkward with their plaid skidz and tiny ponytails, rather than all super-coiffed and adult like today. But really, who thought it would be a good idea for him to make and eat a Gumby sandwich?!

How can you not mention his best role; as nerdy but explosive Harold Lauder in THE STAND?

He was such an adorable early '90s kid. Have you seen him lately? He looks EXACTLY like Heath Ledger (um, except alive and not balding like Heath was)? I really hope he has a comeback. I looked on imdb and he's always been working, but I haven't even heard of some of those movies and shows. Also, I read online that he has a 16-year-old daughter. What? He is such a trendsetter...that Jamie Lynn Spears totally copied her teenage pregnancy off Corin Nemec. Actually, his dorkiness makes me like him more. He was such a cool as ice smart alec on that Parker Lewis show, with his fugly Arsenio Hall shirts buttoned to the top button. And the girl who played his girlfriend on the show looked like she was in her mid-thirties. Ah, creative '90s teen show casting...where a 35-year-old balding and wrinkled Luke Perry plays a 17-year-old. Corky was actually a teenager playing a teenager, awkwardness and all, so I have to give him props.

I thought his best role was in Stargate SG1 and he looked kinda cute. He was the most underapprieciated member of SG1 and he actually figured out some stuff-why didnt Jack like him? Daniel SUCKS! Yes I should be on an Stargate site but I LOVE CORIN NEMEC!

Corin Nemec is very talented. I am a scifi fan and have seen him in Stargate and The Stand. While he was good in both I have to agree he was excellent in the Stand and do not understand where this talented young man has been. I guess I just assumed he went on to directing or producing etc, like so many others. He seems to have an understated presence which just makes you pay more attention to him. Oh and Sophie, Daniel does not stink. At least not on Stargate. I do think his movie, I believe it was "Swarm" did stink. Bad role for him. His guest spot on "Santuary" was great.
