WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO WRITE ABOUT MOVIES?
I've always loved to write and I've always loved movies, so there came a point in my life where the logical thing to do was to become a surfing instructor. After I failed at that, I decided it was time to die a slow death ... so, yeah, why not write about movies for a living?
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE GENRE?
I don't know how someone can have a favorite genre. I've seen films I've loved in every genre, as well as films I've absolutely despised. If a movie entertains you, and you love it -- great! High five! That's my philosophy.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES?
Are you serious? That's like asking me who I'm voting for -- I can't tell you what my favorite movies are. Too personal. And you don't have enough space or time or love for all things Ralph Maccio. Sorry. Next question.
WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE DIRECTORS?
Jews and guys with the last name Anderson.
WHAT'S THE CRAZIEST COMMENT YOU'VE EVER GOTTEN?
Oh God, how do you even pick one? I believe someone once wished upon me a slow and agonizing death for misspelling the name of a Lord of the Rings character. People need to get laid more often.
WHAT ARE THE BEST PERKS OF THIS GIG?
Easy -- the strippers, the booze, the drugs and the free DVDs. Did I mention the strippers?
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT WRITING FOR CINEMATICAL?
Once in a blue moon, hearing that someone watched a film solely on my recommendation and then having them come back to thank me for introducing them to something they wouldn't have seen otherwise. There's my sappy, feel-good response. Happy now?!
