Shakira Foundation Shimmies Up $45 Million for Charity {TMZ}
Sep 29th 2007 5:09PM Shakira did a wonderful thing here - and of course, most of you are criticizing her for it. Who cares where someone decides to be charitable, as long as they are being charitable? I mean, really, how much have YOU donated personality to any kind of charity. My guess? Zero. So stop hatin on people who actually do some good.
And so what she says "Viva Columbia"? Why can't someone be proud of their own country they are from? If that were the case, we would get our a$$e$ handed to us on a regular basis overseas. I mean, please!
So bravo, Shakira. I'm proud of your spirit.
Madonna documentary chatcast {Cinematical}
Oct 22nd 2005 7:10PM With all respect, I totally disagree. I found the film superior to the original. The performances were amazing, and really captured the "feel" of RIT. But more importantly, I think it really has to be viewed "in tandem" with TOD. If you just see this movie, you're really missing the point. The interesting parts come from when you compare the two. The life is this tour versus the life of the previous tour. The changes in Madonna. The change in her life. The differences in the attitudes of the dancers. The differences in her father. I kept looking at my fellow M fan and going, "Tony Ciccone is standing and dancing during the show! OMG!" It always seemed before that T.C. didn't understand Madonna or where she was coming from. Now, he does. Their relationship has obviously improved dramatically. And that is so incredibly interesting! And really, the Israel part is really the most important part of what she was trying to say throughout the whole show. You have to grow. You have to do things that risk making you look stupid. You have to be a better version of yourself. And the RIT show is great, and fascinating, but what the more important thing is - this world needs heroes and needs everyday people like you and me to get up off the couch, to stop complaining about what was or what wasn't in the concert footage and to do something important with our lives and make this world a better place. If you found that boring, I really have to disagree, but ok. I found it fascinating, interesting and a whole world of things to discover about Madonna. The REAL Madonna, and not the fantasy that everyone likes to think of as Madonna. And what's really ironic is that the REAL Madonna has finally become more interesting and a better person than the fantasy we all had of her. Telling people to "fuck off", giving attitude, being the most popular person in the room, singing the biggest song, and yes - even being #1 on the charts (as wonderful as that is) - is NOT what life is all about. Ultimately, it's not important. What IS important is caring about the people around you. Being a wonderful person and telling people you love that you love them. Trying to make the world a better world. To me, being a TRUE Madonna fan (and just my opinion here) means moving past the music and really getting the point. Making people think and looking at your own life in a different way. Growing. Madonna's growth inspiring your own. Challenging you, making you look beyond the ordinary. The music will always be amazing - but there's a whole different level about the music that is even more important. I'm glad she shared that secret with me.
