Watch This: Between Two Ferns with Charlize Theron
Filed under: Comedy », Trailers and Clips »

If you happen to subscribe to the Hitchen's theory of comedy (you know, the one that says women can't be pretty and funny), then you're going to need to explain Charlize Theron to me. The Oscar-winning actress is probably one of the most beautiful women to walk the earth ... but that's not all, because she's also damn funny. Now, we've seen installments of Between Two Ferns here at Cinematical before, but the latest moment of strangeness from Zach Galifianakis just might be my favorite.
Most of us know Theron from her dramatic work, but if you're a fan of Arrested Development then you know how good she is at comedy. In fact, I think that's why this installment works so well, because Theron is a good enough actress that you honestly can't tell if she's in on the joke -- and considering Galifianakis relies on moments of awkwardness in his comedy, presto! You've got the perfect pairing.
Watching this clip reminded me that it's been too long since Theron has unleashed the funny, and with The Road and The Burning Plain already on their way to theaters, and an Atlas Shrugged mini-series on the horizon, this could be our last chance to see her crack a smile for a long, long, time.
After the jump: Charlize gets between the ferns...
Watch This: Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifinakis (Guest: Bradley Cooper)

We here at Cinematical haven't missed an episode of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifinakis, and we're not about to now since the damn show keeps getting funnier and funnier with each absurd interview. Essentially, this Funny or Die original series stars Galifinakis (the fat, bearded dude in The Hangover) as the ridiculously jaded host of a show that interviews celebrities and asks really bizarre, insulting questions. Of course the celebs know it's not real, but even so this staged version is just as funny.
In the latest installment, Galifinakis interviews his Hangover co-star Bradley Cooper -- who's up for just about every major role you can think of these days, from Green Lantern to the live-action Fat Albert (kidding about that last one, though you never know). The Hangover is definitely shaping up be this summer's most memorable R-rated raunch-fest; in their review of the film, Variety called it a "profanely funny comedy" that "satisfies as a boys-gone-wild laff riot that also clicks as a seriocomic beat-the-clock detective story." Needless to say, the comedy geek in me is itching to see this one. We'll have our full review and interview with director Todd Phillips real soon. In the meantime, check out the NSFW video below ...

Watch This: Natalie Portman on 'Between Two Ferns'

We here at Cinematical are huge fans of Zach Galifianakis' show Between Two Ferns on Funny or Die, and in this latest installment Zach sits down for an uncomfortable chat with Natalie Portman and her dog, Whiz. Topics range from how difficult it was to communicate with Chewbacca during the Star Wars films to whether Portman wears a two-piece bikini to whether she shaved her V for ... um, you get the idea. In past episodes, Zach (who stars as the sunglass-wearing baby carrier in this summer's The Hangover) has interviewed folks like Jon Hamm and Michael Cera -- and if you've never watched one of these, then I highly recommend you check out all three hilarious pieces. I can't help but wish all interviews were as entertaining as the ones on Between Two Ferns, though sadly there's no way Portman would sit through something this moronic had it been real. Still, the world needs more Chewbacca questions, in my opinion.
Check out the video below, and then make sure you skip on over to Portman's new site, MakingOf.com, to scope out interviews with Hollywood shakers and bakers, as well as all sorts of other nifty things. Portman now plays in the same sandbox as I -- perhaps that means we should do lunch. Natalie, if you're reading -- call me. Warning: Mild foul language; NSFW

We've posted an episode of Between Two Ferns before, back when Zach Galifianakis interviewed (and subsequently molested) poor Michael Cera. Now, though, in Episode 3 of this hysterical little bit, Zach sits down with Jon Hamm, from AMC's Mad Men and the new flick The Day the Earth Stood Still. While Hamm has made a huge name for himself lately, Galifianakis is slowly emerging as well with six films in different stages of production, including the Youth in Revolt adaptation and the Todd Phillips comedy The Hangover. I'm still waiting to catch his indie Visioneers (which we reviewed here), and these little bits he does for Funny or Die just crack me up.
Also on Funny or Die today is a little advertisement for Will Ferrell's new George Bush show, A Final Night with George W. Bush, which hits NYC in January. Watch that here, and watch the Zach interview below. Warning: This interview contains mild foul language and may be inappropriate for young, normal children.
