'Heroes' Regular Joins Another Maxim Movie

Filed under: Comedy », Romance », Casting »

You probably recognize Nicholas D'Agosto as West, the trouble-starting flying kid and Claire's paramour in Heroes. But to me, this guy will always be the ballot counter in Election, and the dude behind the counter in Psycho Beach Party. And, should he continue with the cinematic work he's picking, rather than the television, I imagine he will never rise above those two gigs.

Jessica already told you that he's in Maxim's Mardi Gras, and now The Hollywood Reporter has shared that he will star in another one -- Maxim's Fired Up. At the fresh, young age of 27, he'll play "a high school student who, with a teammate, bows out of the season to attend cheerleading camp in an elaborate scheme to score women that goes awry when he falls in love." Well, I guess there is no easier way into a girl's pants than being the hand that holds her barely-covered butt in the air.

He will be joined by Eric Christian Olsen (License to Wed), Sarah Roemer (Disturbia), and Daneel Harris (One Tree Hill). Between the pretty faces and the subject matter, I imagine it will do relatively well amongst the target demographic. And this does have Maxim attached to it, so I'm sure there will be lots of gratuitous female skin. Whether the actual movie will be any good, that remains to be seen.

Jenna Elfman Joins 'The Six Wives of Henry Lefay'

Filed under: Comedy », Casting »

It looks like Tim Allen, otherwise known as Henry Lefay, has found his second, and err...umm... fourth wife. (This one got a repeat performance!) The Hollywood Reporter has posted that The Six Wives of Henry Lefay has finally finished its cast with Darma herself -- Jenna Elfman. The movie, which started shooting in Connecticut this week, is about a man (Allen) whose wife and ex-wives fight over his will when they think that he's dead. Elfman's character is the "small-town diva" wife. Since they range in ages from 25 to 55, you can imagine what sorts of jokes the flick will likely use.

Elisha Cuthbert, who will play Allen's daughter, told Cinematical about the feature back in June, and THR followed suit with most of the wives in August. They are: Andie MacDowell, Paz Vega (Spanglish), Kelli Garner (Thumbsucker), and S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order). Considering the fact that there's only five, I don't know why the flick, written and directed by Howard Michael Gould, couldn't be called The Five Wives of Henry Lefay. Is this supposed to be funny and quirky, like that whole "Happyness" title?

Seeing that they make sure to mention that Cuthbert's character doesn't marry, and IMDb lists one other person on the cast -- Eric Christian Olsen (The Last Kiss) -- I'm thinking he's her love interest. You know -- the father is so very dysfunctional (especially if he's only assumed to be dead) that she has to figure out if she can handle a real, long-term relationship. Or, maybe I'm wrong and he's a gardener, a step son, or something else.

Giant Batch of Pics from Mandy Moore Comedy 'License to Wed'!

Filed under: Comedy », Romance », New Releases », Warner Brothers », Images »

Last night, Warner Bros. sent us over this big batch of new pics from the upcoming Mandy Moore romcom License to Wed, which also stars Robin Williams, John Krasinski, and Eric Christian Olsen. The film, which is opening on July 4 as counter-programming to the Michael Bay actioner Transformers, is about a young couple who are put through a series of relationship challenges in order to prepare them for marriage. The director, Ken Kwapis, most recently directed The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and several episodes of the hit TV show The Office. There are enough pics here to give you a glimpse of all the film's major players, and even one with Robin Williams being driven in a car by someone who is blindfolded, which isn't something you see every day. Click on the images in order to get the full-sized, uncut photo. Enjoy!
