Cinematical has just received this exclusive final U.S. one-sheet for St.Trinian's, the British comedy that boasts a whole mixture of Brit talent from Talulah Riley and Gemma Arterton to Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Russell Brand, and Lena Headey.
Directed by Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson, the film focuses on St. Trinians, a girls' school full of ne'er do wells run by headmistress Camilla Fritton (played by Everett ... in drag no less, he's one in from the left). There are two big problems facing the school: One, it's broke. Two, Fritton's ex-flame (Firth), who's also the Education Minister, isn't keen on her insistence on "free expression and self-empowerment." He's the Umbridge to Everett's Dumbledore, if Hogwarts had some hanky panky behind the scenes. Of course, these girls don't want to lose their school, so they decide to steal the famous "Girl with a Pearl Earring" painting from the National Gallery and save the day.
Between two of the UK's big romance men having a sexy past together, and girls whose badness extends well beyond short skirts and lipstick, this should be a fun ride. Trinian's was released a few years ago in the UK, but we'll finally get to see the bad girls in action stateside when it hits theaters on August 28. Scope out the poster below.

Doctor Who Heads for the Sexy 'St. Trinians'
Filed under: Comedy », Casting », Remakes and Sequels »
Earlier this month, Jenni posted that St. Trinians -- that saucy, British bad girl/private school flick -- is getting a sequel called St. Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold. This time around, the girls find out that headmistress Fritton (Rupert Everett) is related to a famous pirate, so they set out on a hunt for buried treasure. With production just kicking off, Empire reports that their arch-nemesis has been found -- Doctor Who's David Tennant. But this is no cheery role for the Who actor. In a twist reminiscent of his stint in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Tennant will play a misogynist named Pomfrey, who is "part of a woman-hating secret society called AD1." Naturally, when tough high school girls set out to find pirate booty, who would they find but a jerky misogynist!?
I'm sure he'll get a good, fun beating from the ladies, but please -- can someone give the man something meatier? He's already proved his worth by taking over Who from the beloved Eccleston and wowing the pants off of most fans. That's no easy feat and proves that he's better than the evil thorn in the side of British private school students. Don't you agree?
