Real or Fake: The Matt Damon 'Entourage' Freak Out

Filed under: Fandom », Trailers and Clips »

First there was David O. Russell's much-publicized on-set freak out, and then it was Christian Bale all but tearing a cinematographer in half. Now a video has surfaced featuring Matt Damon directing Adrian Grenier in what looks to be a PSA for a site called One by One, which does exist and (thanks to commenter Corey for pointing this out) is apparently an organization that helps children in poverty from around the world. Matt Damon is the company's spokesperson.

So Grenier has, like, five lines to deliver, but he keeps stumbling over his words and pissing Damon off. Meanwhile, Jeremy Piven (who looks like he's either in his full-on Ari Gold character or just stepped off the set of Entourage) is frantically pacing behind Damon as he continually corrects and eventually goes off on Grenier. Piven doesn't say a word, so it's tough to say, yes, he is in character as Ari Gold -- though he does look to be acting as if he were Grenier's agent. That being said, Damon refers to Grenier by his real name and not Vince (though at one point Grenier asks if he should talk as Vince), so who knows what the hell is going on here.

I personally think they're filming something for an upcoming Entourage episode and decided to have a little fun at the same time by throwing together this little viral video. Either way it's pretty hilarious, and I wish it went on a drop longer so we could really watch cameo king Matt Damon freak out hardcore.

Watch the NSFW, foul-mouthed video after the jump, and you decide: is it real or is it fake?

Steve Urkel Becomes a Screenwriter!

He spent a lot of time voicing Sonic the Hedgehog, but Jaleel White is much more well-known for playing Steve Urkell, that nerdy dude who annoyed his way from guest appearance to most memorable star on Family Matters. But, God, that was ten years ago now, and Jaleel has not only grown up, but stretched his way outside the acting world.

The Hollywood Reporter posts that White has written a romantic comedy called Did You Get My Text, which Joel Zwick (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) will direct. The film follows a young man who somehow "starts a relationship with a girl on his friend's phone, turning their courtship into a comedy of technological errors." Just how does that happen, anyway? And by comedy of errors, I imagine that means this poor girl finally thinks the young man's friend is into her? Oh dear. Right now, there's no word on cast, but we'll probably hear more about the players soon enough.

Since the film is being produced by Matthew Cooke and Bert Marcus, the THR piece also mentions another project -- Propaganda. Adrien Grenier is on-board to produce the documentary, from writer/director Cooke, which deals with free speech struggles in the wake of the Patriot Act as well as Internet materials being removed due to copyright laws.

Are These The Worst Supporting Performances of All Time?

Leave it up to the folks over at Entertainment Weekly to open up a big ol' can of worms. Basically, they asked readers to name some of the worst supporting performances of all time -- and kicked things off with a still of John Turturro (as Agent Simmons) from this summer's blockbuster hit Transformers. Funnily enough, Turturro was one thing (out of several) that I despised about Transformers. The flick was fun and entertaining, no doubt, but some stuff was just too ... annoying. And Turturro (who's usually fantastic in every role he takes on) was one of them. Checking out EW's featured gallery, I have to agree with a good majority of the performances mentioned. Let me run a few past you:

Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes in Batman Begins is on there, as well as Ben Stiller's horrifically annoying supporting performance in Dodgeball. Adrien Grenier gets the "stale, boring and wooden" nod for The Devil Wears Prada, and Julia Stiles joins him in that category for her supporting role in the Bourne films. But the one mention that's sure to upset a few people has to go to Sofia Coppola from The Godfather: Part III. Kidding (although she is on there) -- I'm actually talking about little Emma Watson as Hermoine in the Harry Potter flicks. The person who submitted Emma says that the actress' "heavy sighs" and "eye rolling" are annoying to no end. I'm sure I can find about a trillion readers who disagree with that statement. There aren't many older films on there; I believe the oldest goes to Mickey Rooney's performance as a Japanese neighbor in Breakfast at Tiffany's. So check out the list and let us know: Are these the worst supporting performances of all time? And which roles were left off the list?
