'Blonde and Blonder' Hits DVD Today!

Filed under: Comedy », Fandom », Home Entertainment », Movie Marketing », Images »

Since we forgot to add Blonde and Blonder to our DVD post earlier today, I'm giving the film its own little slot of love. Yes, in case you did not know, Blonde and Blonder hits DVD shelves today. As in, you can go rent or buy it right now. Like, this minute. Like, what are you still doing in front of your computer? Oh, you're renting Blonde and Blonder from Netflix? Nevermind then. Anyway, the film stars Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards as two women who used to be really hot find themselves in the wrong place at the right time. (And no, they don't wind up at Detective John McClane's house after a night of wild binge drinking.)

In reality, the two girls accidentally witness a mob hit and are mistaken for assassins by two Mafia men working for "The Godfather." Stripper assassins? Wild Things? I miss Denise Richards -- remember when she was, like, the hottest thing on the planet? Or was that only true in my house? Anyway, the girls soon find themselves embarking on a wild adventure that takes them from Niagara Falls to Las Vegas - all while trying to dodge assorted federal agents, mafia and killers. I've heard it's a "guilty pleasure" type of movie; one that will most likely find its own little cult audience. So if you're looking for something to rent this weekend, why not give the girls a little love. Check out our gallery of Blonde and Blonder movie photos below.

Moviefone Ranks the Top 25 Sex Scenes of All Time

Filed under: Fandom », Lists », Images »

All this writing about sex, and I'm going to need a cold shower ... or two. Nothing makes a movie more memorable than a fantastic sex scene. If Jim hadn't tried to stick his "down there pal" into a pie, would American Pie be the classic that it is today? Would Brokeback Mountain still have been a major Oscar contender had Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger not attacked one another like a couple of wild (and horny) animals? Heck, Halle Berry chose the right script and the right time to let her guard down and roll around on a couch with Billy Bob Thornton -- and what did it get her? Yup, her first Oscar. And I can't be the only one to immediately think of the film Wild Things when I hear the names Neve Campbell and Denise Richards.

Let's face it -- sex sells. And sex also helps a mediocre film become one that's talked about for years on end. That said, those devious folks over at Moviefone have compiled a list of what they feel are the 25 Best Sex Scenes of All Time. All of the above aforementioned films are included (although I would've placed Monster's Ball ahead of the puppet sex featured in Team America: World Police), as well as more of our most favorite (and most heated, steamy -- orgasmic?) scenes and films like Bound (lesbian sex), Secretary (work sex), Unfaithful (adulterous sex), Boogie Nights (porn star sex) and the always-enjoyable Y Tu Mama Tambien (foreign-language sex). So take a look at their list, then come (hehe) back here and let us know which ones flow and which, well, blow.

Denise Richards Stripping Down for 'A Beautiful Life'

Filed under: Drama », Independent », Cinematical Indie »

Sometimes you wake up and read some movie news that really excites you, like when Lord of the Rings was announced or when they found a cool actor to play James Bond. Today I got another one: Denise Richards to play a stripper in an indie flick called A Beautiful Life. Oh please, don't even look at me like that. There's a reason Wild Things sold 4 trillion DVDs, and I'll tell you this: It isn't because of Neve Campbell's powerful acting skills.

Yep, Ms. Richards will bare her curves in the Alejandro Chomski drama, and she'll be joined by performers like Michael Madsen, Jesse Garcia and Debi Mazar. According to Variety the low-budget indie will begin shooting in Los Angeles later this year. Plot details are sketchy at this point, but who cares? They should just change the title to "Denise Richards as a Stripper" and watch the money roll in.

The still really sexy Denise Richards has had sort of an up 'n' down movie career. After hitting the bigtime in Starship Troopers and Wild Things, she went on to appear as a Bond girl and delivered some really funny moments in Undercover Brother. On the other hand: Valentine, Good Advice, The Third Wheel, You Stupid Man, Scary Movie 3, etc., Yikes. And when you're dancing between low-budget fart comedies and gimmicky bits of novelty casting, heck, it only makes sense to get naked and sign on for an artsy little indie. Good luck Denise. We're all pulling for you!

Monday Morning Poll: James Bond at His Worst

Hey, did you know Casino Royale was coming out this Friday? After a four-year wait, we now have a new Bond in Daniel Craig, as well as a new direction for the entire franchise. Early reviews indicate the film is wicked cool, and I for one am very excited about it. Martin Campbell returns to the directing chair, having last helmed 1995's Goldeneye. He becomes the first director since John Glen (who directed a whopping five Bond films) to direct more than one 007 flick. (The other three dudes to do that were Guy Hamilton, Lewis Gilbert and Terence Young.) Royale's Bond girls (Eva Green and Caterina Murino) look perfect -- a combination of sexy, exotic and dangerous -- which is something the last few Bond films have lacked. Am I leaving anything out? Oh yeah, the bad guy. Does it get any better than Mads Mikkelsen?

For your viewing pleasure, Cinematical has already kicked off its Seven Days of 007 feature. For the next seven days, we'll be taking a closer look at James Bond, his girls, his enemies and the twenty films that we have either grown to love or loved to hate. Where will Casino Royale fit in? In just a couple of days, we'll have our answer. However, before we begin gushing over the legendary character, I'd like to know which Bond films failed to entertain. Which ones did you absolutely hate? For me, it's a toss up between A View to a Kill and The World is Not Enough. The latter I dislike for obvious reasons -- c'mon, you can't do any better than Denise Richards? The girl was a complete moron -- but besides that -- who's bright idea was it to have Michael Apted direct this flick? Sure, the guy is great at what he does, but boy did he fail here. As far as A View to a Kill is concerned, aside from a groovy song by Duran Duran, was I the only one who was completely freaked out by Grace Jones. Ugh, just thinking about her in this film gives me the bad kind of goose bumps. And while Christopher Walken should have been an awesome bad guy, in my opinion, his talent was completely wasted.

So, I ask you: Which films showed James Bond at his worst?

Dealing with Paparazzi Can be Dangerous to a Senior's Health

Lately things have become super-charged with the paparazzi. While there are always stories detailing celebs getting angry with the flashing lights of insistent cameras, the last few weeks have taken a new turn. Instead of a rouged cheek, Madonna is sporting a large bruise. Lindsay Lohan's friends fear she'll be the next Princess Diana. And now, Denise Richards is a talented laptop hurler.

Richards is currently in Vancouver filming Blonde and Blonder, what seems to be a dumb blonde version of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. The IMDB synopsis claims the duo (played by Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson) will have the "smarts" from Legally Blonde, but somehow, I doubt it! Anyway, the movie was filming at the River Rock Casino when Richards spotted two unauthorized photographers and approached them. The three argued, and their two laptops were thrown off the balcony they were standing on. Unfortunately, the flying computer projectiles struck two older women – at 89 and 91 years of age!

The women somehow escaped serious injury, and at this time, do not have plans to press charges. As for the altercating trio, that remains to be seen. As the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) investigate, the players in the debacle are providing the usual he said/she said. The photographers say the altercation was not provoked, and Richard's publicist says the opposite.

Many of us love a little gossip now and then. But where is the line? Just how much responsibility should celebrities assume for going into this line of work, and when does the responsibility transfer to the eager photographers?

Cinematical's SmartGossip for June 12, 2006

Britney Spears is driving Mel Gibson crazy! According to media reports, the Lethal Weapon star is selling his Malibu mansion because the Spears-Federline clan is causing too much commotion around their gated community. The former Sexiest Man Alive is uprooting his family and moving closer to the Gibson-funded $3.7 million Catholic church. Hopefully now Mel can get some much needed peace and quiet -- I'll bet it wasn't easy channeling the Holy Spirit while PapaZao rapped around the clock.

Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Bozan, welcomed a baby girl on Sunday. Little Isabella Damon joins Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Violet Affleck and Suri Cruise as one of Hollywood's tiniest princesses. I'd really like to see these gals form a band together. They could call themselves The Newborn Supremacy and sing cheeky, infant-related songs like, Baby Love and Baby Got Back.

Angelina and Brad aren't the only people celebrating the birth of baby Shiloh. Denise Richards told Entertainment Tonight that she "was so thankful that Angelina had that baby" because Shiloh's arrival diverted some of the media attention away from her stormy relationship with Charlie Sheen. Phew!  I am so relieved.  At first I thought Denise's garish Pussycat Doll makeup was a desperate attempt to gain Sheen's attention (I heard he's a big fan of that particular look), but now I know it was just another part of her master plan to divert attention away from her messy divorce.

Return of Wild Things

Someone at Mandalay Entertainment must have really, really liked Wild Things. They've signed a deal with that film's director John McNaughton to helm Backstabbers, the screenplay for which was written by McNuaghton's old associate - and Wild Things writer - Stephen Peters. The screenplay, which used to be called Trophy Wife (when it had a different director and a different plot), is "a sexy caper about a rich New York man who masterminds his wife's kidnapping unaware that his mistress and bodyguard are going to double-cross him." Hmm. Who could we get to star in that? Oh, I know! How about those chicks from Wild Things? They're not too busy, are they? Though nothing is official yet, Mandalay is, in fact, in talks with Denise Richards and Neve Campbell to star in the film. But it's not a sequel. Really. Not that anyone who goes expecting one will really care, as long as the ladies kiss again.
