Here are some Fanboy nuggets for you to chew on ...
Halo: The Fall of Reach -- While that old Halo movie is dead and buried, the property may still have a little life left when it comes to a big-screen adaptation. Stuart Beattie wrote a draft of a script based on the 2001 novel by Eric Nylund, which served as a prequel to the first game in the series. Now, Latino Review has snagged a piece of concept art from Kasra Farahani (Wolf Man, Spider-Man 3, Hancock) that's accompanying Beattie's script and will be part of an eventual presentation to Microsoft. Click on the image above to see a larger version over at LR. Hang on Halo fans, they're trying to make this happen for ya ...
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen -- We now know what Shia LaBeouf's next ride might be, and it's definitely not a used 2001 Honda Accord. Oh no, CHUD reports that Megatron will be back in the sequel! Not a giant reveal, I know, but they also claim -- possible spoilers -- that the baddie from the first film might come back to help the Autobots defeat "a new menace." (Some say that menace is The Fallen, some say it's LaBeouf's future parole officer -- we'll check our sources and get back to you.) Not only that, but Megatron might return as a tank this time. Hopefully said tank will offer up enough protection from, ya know, tight corners and multiple shots of whiskey.
More Mummy and Justice League still has a pulse after the jump ...
Transformers Adds New One-Sheet, New Pics and New MySpace Page!
Filed under: Action », Fandom », Movie Marketing »
Last night, I came real close to bumbling my way into a super secret Transformers screening over at the AMC in Times Square. Though I was there to (unfortunately) see Blades of Glory, the girl guarding the list originally thought I was supposed to see Transformers. Since Cinematical was depending on me to provide you with a review of Blades, I reluctantly had to inform her I was there for that movie ... and not Transformers. Needless to say, I whimpered my way up to theater number one and took my seat next to someone who apparently finds Jon Heder to be the funniest person in the history of ever. But I digress.
Seeing as the internets were out to rub the whole situation in my face this morning, I was not at all surprised to find that Transformers now has a spiffy new MySpace page, featuring two brand new pics of Optimus Prime and Megatron staring down one another. In fact, folks can then choose a side (good or bad) when deciding who they would rather be friends with: the robots trying to destroy the earth or the ones trying to save it. Those same two pics are now part of two new one-sheets for the film as well. Both robots look pretty rad, and I'm now convinced this film will kick some major ass ... even if Shia LaBeouf annoys me to no end. Transformers is set to invade theaters on July 4, so choose your sides now ... and choose wisely.
Hugo Weaving Is An Evil Decepticon!

There has been plenty of speculation as to who was going to be providing the voice of the evil Megatron in Michael Bay's big-budget remake of Transformers. IESB.net has been following the process pretty closely, and they have now confirmed that Australian actor Hugo "Mr. Anderson" Weaving has been signed on as the head Decepticon. Rumors of who was going to provide the voice varied from the traditionalist's choice Frank Welker (who voiced Megatron, Soundwave, and Galvatron in the animated series) to some bizarre gossip that it could be rapper Ludacris (aka Christopher Bridges) being up for the part. But silly rumors aside, it looks like the casting of Weaving could be a done deal.Fans have had plenty of changes to get used to since the film was put into production. Last August, Mark gave us the news on some images of Megatron that had caused a stir among fans, and there have been plenty of grumbling about some of Michael Bay and producer Tom DeSanto's "stylistic" choices. With the addition of Weaving, who has already had plenty of voice-over experience. It will hopefully add a little something to a character design that has inspired some "mixed reactions" to say the least.
The Many Faces of Megatron

Have you seen the new Transformers images? If you haven't, follow the link below. They've created quite a stir among the geek community, and really with anyone who loves the Transformers. Why? Well really, because they don't look like the Transformers as we knew them in times past. Sure, they've undergone various incarnations before -- and they don't always look exactly the same -- but this change, for whatever reasons, has been a tough pill for many to swallow. In case you don't know what all the hubbub is about, or if you simply want to have a really good look at what you already know, the folks over at Seibertron have put together a nice little collage featuring many Megatrons of times past with a comparative shot of "Megatron on Michael Bay." Go have a look and see what you think. So, are the changes for the better? Some people (perhaps less cynical than you and I) like the new style. It reflects some edge and pizazz. Others look at it and say "What the %$!& did you do to Megatron?!" My opinions on director Michael Bay are well documented already, but I keep wanting to give the man a chance. I desperately want this movie to be great. If you find these changes for the better, I'd love for you to convince me to agree with you. ...
Megatron Revealed!

After Michael Bay and his gang of merry studio lawyers spent some time desperately battling internet fanboys hell-bent on leaking any and all Transformers information, it now seems they've let their guard down and are giving the fans what they want.
Last week, writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci sat down for a live webcast and revealed the names of all robots included in next summer's blockbuster films. And, shortly after the webcast, a slew of robot pics hit the net, including images of Bumblebee, as well as supposed toy prototypes for Optimus Prime, Blackout and Scorponok. However, missing in action was the film's number one bad guy, Megatron. Well, the good folks over at AICN have just gotten their hands on some wicked photos of Megatron and, well, I think they speak for themselves. Regardless of whether this will be the final look for Megatron, it certainly seems Bay and Co. are heading in the right direction. Thoughts?
