Auction Block: Buy Brad Pitt's Yearbook!

It's pretty easy to find high school photographs of your favorite stars as they're all over the Internet. However, that's not really the same as buying the actual yearbook the photos are housed in. If you're a Brad Pitt fan, time is running out to scrape your money together and purchase a super-rare piece of Pitt memorabilia. eBay has an auction up for the 1982 Kickapoo Legend Yearbook, which features high school senior Pitt on 12 pages (current bid: $102.50 with one day left).

As an added bonus, there aren't even inscriptions, so you won't have to rue over the fact that someone wrote about study halls right over a pic of the uber famous actor, or be reminded that this isn't your own personal memento. And just think -- what a way to make an impression when asking for an autograph. I imagine it's been many years since he's been asked to sign a yearbook -- especially one with his picture in it!

Poll: Superman's Cape or Madonna's Wedding Dress ... Which Would You Buy?

Ever wished you could run around in Superman's outfit, or be a wedding-day virgin (cough) like Madonna? Now's your big chance. BBC reports that in Las Vegas March 15 and 16, a slew of items from movies and pop culture will be auctioned off.

The collection, privately owned by developer Anthony Pulgliese, is valued at over $5 million. Personally, I can't fathom having $5 million just sitting around waiting for me to spend it on a bunch of collectible stuff, no matter how cool it is, but maybe some of your folks have a spare million or two down in your couch cushions, and you'd like to spend it buying memorabilia (side note: if that description fits you, email me before you head to the auction ... I know some indie filmmakers out there who could use that money for a better purpose ...).

Anyhow, in case you're into collecting, here's a list of the items that will be up for grabs. If you were going to attend this auction and had the cash to spare, which would you bid on?

Cinematical Seven: Be the Best Santa Ever with Movie Memorabilia!

Filed under: Fandom », Cinematical Seven », 12 Days of Cinematicalmas »

Lots of people say that it isn't easy buying gifts for people, but I have to disagree. Unless you have almost zero contact with a person, it's easy to just keep a few mental notes about their likes and find a gift that's at least moderately suitable. But with the advent of the Internet and a sweet little service called eBay, it became ridiculously easy to put in less effort and get even better gifts -- especially for the rabid movie geek. The site is a veritable smorgasbord of movie memorabilia. Remember a few key words from past conversations, and you can come up with tongue-twisting gifting greatness -- memorable movie memorabilia.

Yeah, some of it is beyond ridiculously-priced. I'm still bummed that I couldn't buy a few Buffy auction pieces a few years ago when the show ended, but not all of it is made for Mr. or Ms. Moneybags. There's also funky Buy it Now stuff, and little trinkets from films that never come close to the dreaded 4-figures. What follows is a list of current auction goodies that could make you the best Santa ever. Some are always available, others are rare, funky finds, and all of it is something that'd be special and unique. And remember -- be a smart bidder.

Detergent Container from Superbad - Auction Ends 12/19

Who knows how pricey this item will get when it hits its end date on December 19, but as I'm writing this on Saturday morning, it's current $10.50. Sure, that price is guaranteed to go up, but it's still a heck of a cheap price for a highly-recognizable prop from this summer's best comedy. Team this puppy with a picture of Jonah Hill running with the detergent containers and the prop's certificate of authenticity, and you'll become a gift-giving God to any fan of Judd Apatow, Hill, and all that is Superbad.
