Filed under: Action », Drama », Thrillers », Mystery & Suspense », Fandom », DIY/Filmmaking », Angelina Jolie », Scarlett Johansson », Movie Marketing », Remakes and Sequels »

On this edition of Movie Pics, Angelina Jolie suits up as Mariane Pearl, Matt Damon returns as Jason Bourne and -- whaddya know -- a Christopher Nolan-related story that doesn't have to do with Batman. There's a first. Check it out:

Movie Pics: Die Hard 4 and Grind House

Filed under: Action », Horror », Thrillers », Fandom », DIY/Filmmaking », Quentin Tarantino », Movie Marketing », Remakes and Sequels »

On this edition of Movie Pics, Detective John McClane gets stuck in the wrong place (eh, Baltimore ain't so bad) at the wrong time ... again, and Kurt Russell shows up in Austin looking real cool, ready to do some serious damage.

  • That's right, the Baltimore Sun has snagged the first pics from the set of Live Free or Die Hard. Yippee-ki-yay motherf**ker! In the photos, Bruce Willis is back, bald, walking on top of cars and looking a bit old. Once again, it appears traffic congestion is his biggest nemesis. Kick ass! Traffic rocks!
  • Hey, is that Kurt Russell on the set of Death Proof, Quentin Tarantino's half of Grind House? You bet your sweet ass it is! Apparently, the dudes are still wreaking havoc in Austin, Texas -- this time, they're shooting at some sort of Food Mart ... which actually appears to be a doctored-up 7-Eleven. In the pic, Russell plays the driver of a car that kills people ... we think.

Movie Pics: For Your Consideration, Rogue and Grind House

Filed under: Action », Comedy », Horror », Fandom », DIY/Filmmaking », Quentin Tarantino », Movie Marketing »

Are you ready to check out some brand new movie pics? C'mon now, don't sound too excited. On this edition of Movie Pics, we ask you to consider some images from Christopher Guest's new film, Jet Li and Jason Statham prepare to kick your ass right out of the theater and -- wait -- so that's what Kurt Russell will be driving in Grind House. Read on my fellow picture freaks:

  • This fall, Christopher Guest returns to his mockumentary ways with For Your Consideration, a film that appears to poke fun at the way certain actors handle the tremendous burden that is Oscar buzz. As far as cast goes, Guest has assembled a few of his regulars (Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Fred Willard, among others), as well as some new blood (ahem, Ricky Gervais). While I haven't been crazy about the last couple Guest flicks, the plot, the cast and these new pics have certainly kicked my anticipation meter up a few notches. [via JoBlo]
  • Before he calls it quits as a martial arts action star, Jet Li will make sure he kicks as much on-screen ass as possible, what with his role as a mysterious assassin in the upcoming film Rogue. Pic revolves around an FBI agent (Jason Statham) who, after his partner and family are killed, sets out to avenge his buddy's death by targeting the man (is Jet Li a man or a machine?) responsible. Cinema Blend has the first images from Rogue, which also stars Luiz Guzmán (I take it we won't get to see a fantastic jump-kick from Mr. Guzmán) and Devon Aoki.
  • Word on the street is that Quentin Tarantino has officially taken over the city of Austin (Jette, I want you on set, STAT!), while shooting Death Proof -- his half of next years double feature masterpiece, Grind House. Tarantino describes Death Proof as "sort of a slasher film, but instead of a knife, it's a car." Well, thanks to the good folks over at AICN, we now have pics of said car, which will be driven by Kurt Russell -- who I'm hoping brings a little old school awesome to the role.

Movie Pics: No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood and Jackass: Number Two

On this edition of Movie Pics, we have two beautiful entrees and those half-eaten, fast-food leftovers your friend stuck in the fridge last week. Check it out:

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but this may be the first still from No Country for Old Men (pictured above). Directed by the Coen Brothers and based off Cormac McCarthy's novel, pic revolves around a hunter (Josh Brolin) who stumbles upon dead bodies, some heroin and more than $2 million in cash. To some of you, that may sound like one helluva night out on the town. However, our hunter is not so lucky, as he soon finds himself caught up in a world of violence and mayhem.
  • In the same New York Times article that features No Country for Old Men, there was also a new photo from Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming oil flick, There Will Be Blood. As the article states, both films were filmed in Marfa (not Martha), a tiny Texas town with a population of 2,400. Anderson's film, however, is based off Upton Sinclair's novel, Oil!, and centers around a turn-of-the-century prospector (Daniel Day Lewis), his family and the early days of the oil business.
  • And, finally, a few pictures and film clips have surfaced from Jackass: Number Two, a (sequel?) to the 2002 masterpiece in which a bunch of morons run around and take turns torturing themselves, their bodies and audiences everywhere. Yeah, that about sums things up as far as Jackass goes. Enjoy!

Movie Pics: School for Scoundrels, Penelope, Casino Royale

Filed under: Comedy », Fandom », DIY/Filmmaking », Movie Marketing », James Bond », Remakes and Sequels »

Today could qualify as semi-orgasmic for those of you who like them movie photos. I use the word semi only because, unfortunately, Christina Ricci's face is covered in her pic. Oh, how they love to tease. Here's what's floating around the web right now:

  • The first pic has been released for this summer's School for Scoundrels, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder. Yeah, we don't know how Napoleon keeps getting roles either. In the film, Heder plays a man who enrolls in a confidence boosting class so that he can learn how to pick up the girl of his dreams. There's just one problem: His teacher (Thornton) has a thing for the very same girl. Scoundrels hits on July 14th.
  • Not too long ago, I told you how Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon was riding along with a pizza delivery guy as part of her training for the film Penelope. Well, in these new pics, we get to see the biker bad-ass chick in action. Co-starring alongside Christina Ricci, the film is said to be some sort of modern-day fable that finds Ricci's character attempting to break away from a family curse.
  • For a film that's not coming out until the fall, they are really pimping the hell out of Casino Royale. Even better than the various recent set visits, these new pics give us a good look at Bond girls Eva Green and Caterina Murino. Yum. There's also a few action shots as well as three showing Daniel Craig pointing a gun. We get it - he knows how to hold a gun. But does he ever shoot it?
