Video of the Day: Gary Busey Abuses an 11-Year-Old

He was the talk of the red carpet Sunday night after interrupting Ryan Seacrest's interview with Jennifer Garner, only to wrap Garner in a bear-hug and kiss her neck. I'd say the poor gal was a bit freaked out. And then there's Gary Busey's date in the background, trying to push her way in toward Seacrest, smiling like a moron in that ugly green dress. Anyway, Busey, as always, was a maniac. Now, check out what happened after the ceremony (I believe it's after), as an 11-year-old female reporter attempts to approach Busey for an interview.

She sounds like a cute girl, shooting these red carpet things for a website called StarzLife.com. I don't think she runs the website, but they most likely brought her in to do the reporting -- probably because it was the only way they could get a celeb to talk to them. So the girl tries to talk to Busey, and the guy just verbally abuses her. Not so much that he was making fun of her, but treating her like a complete moron -- raising his voice, asking her to repeat the question 30 times, then refusing to give the girl a shout out for the site. "I don't do shout outs," he, well, shouted.

But we'll give her a shout out. Go visit StarzLife.com. There ya go kid. Check out the video above.

New 'Cloverfield' Preview

If you were watching Ryan Seacrest bring in the new year this past Monday night, then you may have already seen this brand new Cloverfield preview (featured above). Seacrest introduced it at some point during the broadcast (we tuned in shortly before midnight because watching Ryan Seacrest for an extended period of time apparently causes cancer in some cities). Basically, you're getting a bunch of scenes we've already seen from previous trailers and TV spots, though I believe a few new shots were thrown in (as well as some dialogue). For those who aren't already aware, Cloverfield tells the story of a giant monster that attacks New York City, and the film is shot entirely using hand-held cameras a la The Blair Witch Project. Cloverfield arrives in theaters on January 18.

Three Chances to Get Knocked Up

Universal has unveiled the first three posters for Judd Apatow's Knocked Up -- a follow-up to his giganto comedy The 40 Year Old Virgin -- which is set to hit theaters on June 1. AICN managed to nab three different looks at this bad boy, including two domestic posters and one international. Pic, of course, stars Seth Rogen (Apatow's "Golden Boy") as a guy who accidentally "knocks up" his one night stand, as played by the beautiful Katherine Heigl.

Yeah, you're probably thinking the same thing I am: Based on that picture to the right, how in the world did Rogen's character manage to score with someone as gorgeous as Katherine Heigl? Surely they don't expect us to believe that Rogen -- with his good looks and hot body -- has no problem taking home the prettiest girl in the room, right? Ah, then again, perhaps that's part of the plot? Regardless, it should be interesting to see how Apatow does with this film -- more specifically, will it make Seth Rogen a huge star? Hey, if anything, Ryan Seacrest plays himself in the film ... so, just watching him make the usual ass out of himself should score at least a few laughs.

Nielsen to Oscars: You just got served!

According to overnight ratings from Nielsen, this year's Oscar telecast could go down as the second lowest-rated of all time, behind only 2003's show which produced Chicago as its Best Picture. With roughly a 10% drop from last year's ceremony, it appears as if the stampede of Oscar advertising did nothing to save this ship from sinking faster than Ryan Seacrest's interviewing ability.

Throughout the night., ABC averaged a 27.1 household rating, down from last year's 30.1, yet miles above 2003's disgusting 25.5. Even though the telecast progressively became more boring as time went on, ratings still managed to slowly climb each half hour, ultimately leveling off in the last hour. I'd be curious to know what exactly could have been added to attract more viewers?

For example: If Batman Begins was up for more awards, would you have tuned in? Sure, all of the films nominated weren't as commercial as say, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, but you'd think, with all the controversy swirling around Brokeback Mountain, it would at least bring in more eyes. I guess we're lucky there was no singing and dancing in Brokeback Mountain because then, well, Ryan Seacrest would be our only highlight. Geez, talk about the end of the world, huh?

Oscars: Erik's totally kick-ass red carpet coverage

Holy crap, I'm live-blogging the red carpet coverage on E! Keep refreshing the page if you want to live...or just want to watch me make fun of Ryan Seacrest, like, a lot.

5:30: Okay, so how long before Isaac Mizrahi attempts to french kiss one of the Brokeback boys just to see if, ya know, he can grab a spot in the sequel?

5:32: Oohh, they have a blimp - I think I just saw Tom Sizemore's crack den!

5:33: Seacrest opens up the red carpet with Alba's Playboy news? Yeah, I can see how that connects to the Academy Awards.

5:35: Okay, when they do the whole 3 circle conversation, it gives me a headache - especially when Mizrahi mentions underwear.

5:37: Does anyone else think Ryan Seacrest's Oscar "lounge" is, well, a little bit Brokeback?

5:43: Seacrest is interviewing John Legend in the Oscar "lounge" and all I want to know is whether or not those people in the background are having real conversations or just going back and forth with stuff like, "Holy crap, I'm on E! right now!"

5:45: Seacrest reads the Oscar menu and they are serving grilled cheese sandwiches. Classy!

5:46: Noah Baumbach and Jennifer Jason Leigh are the coolest couple ever! Mizrahi is officially a doof for thinking understudies are funny.

5:50: Seacrest is back in the "lounge" going over designers. Once again, this has so much to do with the films. However, you can keep up those pics of Scarlett Johansson.

5:54: The topic of conversation has gone to who does and doesn't have extensions. Is this important to a woman? I have no idea.

5:56: Giuliana says people who show up early are tools. I love it. Oh, and take a real close look at Guiliana. Is it me or is it a bit cold out there?

5:58: Hey Ludacris made it to the "lounge". Man, Seacrest has all the VIP's!
