The following post contains the descriptions of two scenes in Iron Man 2 (possible spoilers), so read on at your own risk ...

In the fictional Iron Man world, Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) helps to save many lives -- but this latest bit of news actually takes place in the real world, and involves the heroics of the actor who plays Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr. While shooting a scene involving "a group of people running away from a group of robotic villains," an extra was knocked to the ground by a stuntman in a robot suit. With chaos ensuing during the scene, Downey Jr. was the only one to realize that the man was actually injured as he called for help while on the ground. The actor then jumped into the scene and yelled "Cut! Cut!" while the cameras were still rolling, then stayed with the fallen extra until paramedics arrived. The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken hip. We here at Cinematical wish him a speedy recovery ... and, um, we're now dying to learn more about this robot villain stampede scene. [IOL]

UPDATE: Paramount contacted Cinematical to say that the above story is not true. No one was injured on the set and no one was saved.

In other Iron Man 2 news, the website Nuke the Fridge claims to know who (or what) Stan Lee will be playing in the sequel. Fans of Marvel are already well aware of the fact that Stan Lee makes a cameo in some Marvel-related movies (based on the characters he had a part in creating), and so who will he be playing in Iron Man 2? Talk about a comeback -- Mickey Rourke has gone from wrestling his way back into our hearts to getting cast in what is perhaps the biggest blockbuster of 2010: Iron Man 2. Variety tells us that Rourke is in talks to play a villain that's described as "Tony Stark's Russian alter ego, a heavily tattooed bruiser who is in the arms trade and battles Iron Man in his own nuclear-powered armored suit." Though the script isn't finished yet, most likely the character will be that of Crimson Dynamo. From Wiki: "The first Crimson Dynamo was also the creator of the armor: Professor Anton Vanko. A Soviet scientist of Armenian birth with a PhD, Vanko was the world's foremost expert on electricity. He built a suit that was wired up to perform electric miracles, making him a human dynamo. The Crimson Dynamo battle-suit allowed him to control electricity in all of its forms, allowing him to fire devastating bolts of electricity. It also allowed him to fly." THR, however, mentions that Rourke is playing the villain Whiplash, who's also known as Blacklash, "a man with deadly, technologically enhanced coils." Rourke also signed on to star in Sylvestor Stallone's The Expendables, as reported earlier, which means the man is taking all he can get.

According to casting calls, they still need to cast an "Eastern European, brilliant, gritty" male lead in his thirties and a "beautiful [female lead who] speaks several languages fluently and is equally proficient in martial arts" in her twenties, who is Tony Stark's assistant Natasha (as per THR). Mickey Rourke playing villain in Iron Man 2? What do you think about all this? We'll have more as it develops -- Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7, 2010.

Robert Downey Jr. is, quite simply, a god of geekdom. If there's a holy trinity, he shares it only with Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman because it is so rare that actors just get it, and even rarer that they'll say it. Witness Downey's thoughts on The Avengers to MTV: "If we don't get it right it's really, really going to suck. It has to be the crowning blow of Marvel's best and brightest because it's the hardest thing to get right. It's tough to spin all the plates for one of these characters."

He also may have let slip who The Avengers might be battling in his concerns that Iron Man remain in a real-world setting: "The danger you run with colliding all these worlds is that Jon was very certain that Iron Man should be set in a very realistic way. Nothing that happened in Iron Man is really outside the realm of possibility. Once you start talking about Valhalla and supersized super soldiers and jolly green giants, it warrants much further discussion." This could mean Giant Man, or Captain America could be looming big in Downey's thoughts.

Remember this photo above from Iron Man? Got it ... now remember where exactly this was in the movie? You don't because this particular scene wasn't included in the theatrical cut, but is included as a deleted scene on the DVD. Access Hollywood has a first look at the scene in question (watch it after the jump), which follows Tony Stark and Pepper Potts to Stark's home in Dubai where he travels to use as a cover before attacking terrorists in the Middle East. Of course, why not throw a party while there ... and in typical Stark fashion, said party is packed with beautiful girls in skimpy bikinis.

At one point, after telling Pepper to cue up the fireworks, Stark takes two girls up to a pimped-out room for a little ... company. On their way up to the room, they pick up a third girl and away we go. Sure, I understand why the scene existed (in order to get Stark, the socialite, from Cali to the Middle East so that Stark, the superhero, could take care of some business), but I also see why it was left on the cutting room floor. Too much playing, too much suave ... too much period. But what do you think?

A very smart new TV spot for The Incredible Hulk opens on a snippet of the scene featuring Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and General Ross (William Hurt), spoiling what, for many of your average moviegoers, would have been a giant surprise. Of course, those of us living out our days in internet movie geek land have known about the Stark cameo for awhile now -- and if you visited New York Comic Con earlier this year, you would've seen a good majority of the Stark scene during the Hulk panel.

But the question is: Should they have ruined the surprise for everyone right off the bat with this new commercial? I guess it depends on which side you're on. From a marketing standpoint, it's kinda brilliant and a great way to show moviegoers that both The Incredible Hulk and the wildly-successful Iron Man are connected in some way. And while many predict Hulk will not pull in Iron Man numbers, throwing that film's star in a trailer will certainly help Hulk give its Marvel counterpart a run for its money. Then again, some folks like to be surprised -- but what's to say the Stark cameo is the only surprise in the film? Oooohhh ... goosebumps! I'm seeing The Incredible Hulk in just a few hours from now and I'm stoked. Fingers crossed for Norton, Roth and the gang!

Who's excited about Iron Man? We are, we are! And we know you, like us, are counting the days -- nay, the hours -- until May 2, when Iron Man hits the big screen. In the meantime, though, we have this little behind-the-scenes tidbit from Moviefone's recent Unscripted interview with the Iron Man himself, Robert Downey, Jr., Jon Favreau and Terrence Howard, interviewing each other with your questions.

The clip above (which is not included in the full interview over on Moviefone) is short, but funny -- how can you not like a video that includes Robert Downey, Jr. talking in a Jersey accent and saying, "What?! You feeling froggy, bitch? Jump!" Oh, yeah. If only I'd been there myself for this, perhaps Downey, Jr. would finally recognize his long unrequited love for me. Oh, wait, I'm the one who's had a crush on him forever ... ah, well.

In the last week, it feels like Iron Man has suddenly gone mainstream. It went from being "another one of them geek movies" to a movie everyone is lining up for. Even my mom is interested, and I can never interest her in anything that originated from a comic book.

But, while this could be the movie that crumbles the walls between geekdom and the ordinary world, there are still going to be many people walking in and out of that theatre confused about all things Tony Stark. Or they will be bitten by the bug, and suddenly desire a stack of graphic novels and comic books beside their bed.

To help, our good friends over at ComicMix have put together a helpful reading list of essential Iron Man stories. I'm delighted to see that Armor Wars (the crazy comic story my friend Matt desires to see onscreen) made the cut . So did another contender for that list, Doomquest, which sees Tony Stark and Doctor Doom hurled into Arthurian England. it's not just essential reading for the new Iron Man movie -- it is essential reading for our Cinematical content too!

I don't know if you can manage to track all of these down before Iron Man opens on Friday -- but it does give you some handy reading for the weekend. And remember to check out their essential Batman reading list before The Dark Knight.

The picture above takes place toward the very end of the scene they showed us yesterday at New York Comic Con, and it comes toward the end of a battle between armed forces and the Hulk. This scene is also predominantly featured in the new trailer which will play before Iron Man in about two weeks. Essentially, the military have Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) on the run. They chase him into this glass tunnel, lock both entrances on either side and launch two smoke-type bombs into the area. Outside, jeeps and a slew of troops gather awaiting Banner's transformation. They want this monster and they want him bad.

Suddenly, as the smoke builds up, we see Banner press his hands against the glass -- his eyes go green, his face fighting the beast within. Smoke fills the screen; it's quiet. Everyone waits. Then ... BOOM! -- the Hulk crashes out of the glass onto this huge field, running for his life. Several jeeps give chase, guns firing from every corner of the screen -- bullets ripping into Hulk's skin; he bumps one jeep and the vehicle rolls over. He gets to another one, picks it up and proceeds to smash it until the thing is in a million pieces. Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth), who at this point has been given a few injections of that super serum, heads out to where Hulk is. Hulk tries to beat down Blonsky, but the latter has an extra bounce in his step. For some reason, he's not like the others -- he can move pretty fast. After a brief cat and mouse, the two approach each other (seen above). Blonsky says, "Is that all you got?" Hulk looks down, winds his leg back and goes to deliver a giant kick to Blonsky's stomach ... and we ... cut to black.

It's almost like an episode of MTV's Cribs ... except we're on a movie set with Jon Favreau touring Tony Stark's fictional house. Yes, in case the 1,547 Iron Man trailers, clips, TV spots, images and posters weren't enough to hold you over, Yahoo has released a video featuring Favreau running around Stark's amazing house on the top of a cliff somewhere. In the video, they're at this real house as well as on a soundstage where other parts of his house are in the process of being built. In between the tour, we're also shown several different "trailer-ish" clips from the film for those who ... need to see more Iron Man? Anyone else feel like they've already watched this film like ten times already? Yes, it looks like it kicks ass, but enough already. Cut it. Fade to black. Seriously, is there anything left to surprise us with? That said, a bit of a warning: There's a lot of Iron Man in this video, so if you're still trying to stay away ... don't watch.

The rest of Iron Man arrives in theaters on May 2.

So far, we've only seen two pictures and a few different variations of the same teaser poster for this summer's highly-anticipated The Incredible Hulk. Word had it a trailer was supposed to debut during the Superbowl, but that never happened. And with all eyes turning to Indiana Jones next week, who knows when we'll finally get to see a bit more of the Hulk re-do, starring Edward Norton, Tim Roth, Liv Tyler and William Hurt. Well, good news is that, like what happened with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull last week, a flyer featuring toys from the upcoming Hulk movie has made its way online. It's not the real deal, but this flyer does finally give us a look at what the filmmakers have planned for Hulk's arch-nemesis Abomination.

Superhero Hype grabbed a photo of the flyer (which we've included after the jump for possible spoiler reasons), and I must say Abomination looks very cool. We haven't been given much to get excited about (with the exception of knowing that Robert Downey Jr. will make a cameo as Tony Stark at some point), and so seeing the toy version of Abomination will have to do for now. The flyer also features an image of the toy Hulk, which looks, well, like the Hulk we all know and love.
