McLovin and Others Join Apatow's 'Year One'
Though he still hasn't lined up his next directing gig, Judd Apatow is slowly creating a comedic empire. His latest producing effort, Year One, has added five new faces to its cast -- and The Hollywood Reporter tells us one of those faces just happens to be McLovin himself, Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Joining Mintz-Plasse in the comedy will be Oliver Platt, David Cross, Vinnie Jones and Juno Temple. Production on the film is set to begin this January in Louisiana and New Mexico, with Harold Ramis onboard to direct off a script written by Ramis, Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (both of whom have written several episodes of The Office). Jack Black and Michael Cera also star.
All we know about the story at this point is that it's a comedy set in biblical times. HR says Platt is in talks to play a platform-shoe-wearing high priest (love that description!), while Jones will tackle the role of a head palace guard named Sargon. No word on who Cross, Temple and Mintz-Plasse will play, though I assume the latter will take on the role of biblical geek? So far Apatow has found success with comedies set in today's world, around characters we can all relate to. It should be interesting to see his group take on a project set in biblical times, though anything with Jack Black and Michael Cera in the lead automatically garners my interest. But here's the big question: Who will Will Ferrell play in a cameo role?
Juggernaut in Action

If you are looking for hope in the Vinne Jones as the Juggernaut
situation, this sadly is not your day. IGN has
recently shared a few new pictures (under the title of Juggernaut Breaks Loose) showing the man himself in action - and
while they certainly demonstrate a very positive step up from that absolutely laughable image that was floating around a
week or two ago, they still lack the essential hugeness that should define the character. He weighs nine hundred pounds,
for crying out loud. For comparison, pull up Marvel Directory's Juggernaut page and have a good look at the
character as he is shown there, particularly in the picture halfway down the page where he is throwing Spider-Man
around - the perspective offered by a normal-ish sized Peter Parker really exemplifies how huge the Juggernaut should
be. I will say that the image on IGN that shows him running behind Mystique seem to convey a proper sense of
height...but the guy still needs to weigh several hundred more pounds. Really, though, there are probably bigger (pun
definitely intended) problems to worry about with this film than the Juggernaut's character design.Yet Another X3 Update

There seems to be a never ending flow of new information regarding the upcoming addition to the X-Men franchise as its May 26th release date looms ever closer.
Here's the quick and dirty on the most recent developments for all you fanboys and girls out there:
- X-Men 3 has wrapped principal photography in Vancouver and is now moving into the post-production phase.
- The film was shot on the same stages as X2, with much of the same crew, and was the biggest production to date in Canada. Sets for the movie have been held in case of reshooting needs.
- Arclight will be in the film as a member of the Brotherhood (In the comics, Arclight was a member of the Marauders). The part is apparently very small.
- Spectral Motion built the Juggernaut suit that Vinnie Jones wore.
