Credits Report: 'Let Love Rule' Remix
Filed under: Trailers and Clips »

The cheeky use of seemingly endless, interactive, and fake credits at the end of this "Let Love Rule" video for the Justice remix of Lenny's Kravitz's song take over once the hero saves the girl, hands her his lucky purple rabbit foot, and wanders off into the city. No, really. That's all there is after he shoots the bad guy in the head; the music plays, the guy wanders around the city, and the credits start rolling. There's Wolfman Rick, a prison guard, dancers, a cab driver, three assistant directors, and even a person to handle the floor special effects. Eventually, our hero realizes that the credits are actually there, and the fun begins.
Director Keith Schofield is definitely a creative, clever dude, as his viral videos, advertisements, and music videos (and many awards and professional kudos) go to show. The SFW XXX Diesel video is pretty wild -- I dare you to watch it and not try to figure out what's really happening behind the illustrations.

Edgar Wright's 'Scott Pilgrim' Video Blogs
Filed under: Fandom », DIY/Filmmaking », Movie Marketing »

That cheeky Edgar Wright has been teasing Scott Pilgrim vs. The World fans with blurry photos of stand-ins on the set of the movie, and yesterday he posted a video blog from the first day of the movie shoot.
"I'm doing this photo blog throughout the whole production, and this morning I decided to take a picture at 8 o'clock in the morning of the crew so then we can contrast it, see their happy, smiling faces at 8 o'clock in the morning on the first day of the shoot, compared to whatever time we wrap on the last day of the shoot... We'll see who's left."
Rather ominous yet adorable. I think it's the accent.
The video shows the actors getting pumped up for the first day despite the early hour, except for Michael Cera, who is strumming a guitar and asks how many days are left on the shoot with a poker face.
"During the shoot, can you just tell me when you're on me so I can suck in?" Wright asks, and then proceeds to demonstrate his good and bad posture.
It's a neat way to engage fans, and, of course, drum up some viral buzz for the movie. It's interesting to see how the studios and directors are using Twitter to interact with fans, but the video blog is more fun to watch and share.
Tune in at the official website for the movie.
Cute and Cuddly 'Hellboy II' Trailer
Filed under: Action », Sci-Fi & Fantasy », Movie Marketing », Remakes and Sequels », Trailers and Clips »
In a movie season of superheroes, it is no easy task to stand out -- even if you're bright red with a giant stone hand and a tail. But I dare you to find one other superhero out there with as much swagger and love for kittens as Hellboy. Check out this new trailer for the fantasy-action flick Hellboy II: The Golden Army above which, conveniently, poses as a helpful public service announcement from Hellboy (Ron Perlman) himself ... along with his trademark kitty.
In Guillermo del Toro's second installment of the comic book adaptation, the uneasy truce between humanity and 'the invisible realm' has come to an end. A ruthless leader with the ability to walk in both worlds has gathered a mythical 'Golden Army' to, in so many words, kick ass and take names. So who else can we turn to other than Hellboy and the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Development to save the world once again?
Del Toro started the first wave of viral sites for the film with HetFet and Squeaky Clean Waste Management back in April. But with the exception of hardcore fans, I don't think many of us got on board with the campaign. In the end, it was a better idea to have Red make the rounds with the American Gladiators, Chuck, and an appearance on The Actor's Studio with James Lipton. My personal favorite is his audition for mun2, but I'll leave it up to you to decide which one you like best.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army opens this Friday.
New 'Wanted' Red Band Trailer

I have to hand it to Timur Bekmambetov; during the half-hearted viral campaign for Wanted, I bet no one saw that little stunt coming. But, now it's back to more traditional marketing before Wanted opens in a few weeks, and it really was about time we got a look at an R-rated trailer (and not just in Russian either) for the comic-related flick. The domestic R-rated trailer for Bekmambetov's feature film adaptation of Mark Millar's comic book series is now online (courtesy of Apple) and if you caught that Russian version floating around the net, then I'm afraid there isn't much new to report. On the upside, at least now we get to hear the great and dignified Morgan Freeman drop an 'F bomb', and that is always fun.Wanted is based on Millar's comic book about an insignificant office drone (played by James McAvoy) who is the heir to a team of assassins. Some early glimpses of the film were a bit of a Matrix re-hash, but with each trailer release, my expectations have risen ever so slightly. Thankfully, this new trailer makes it clear the film is going to steer clear of PG-13 sensibilities and will head straight for the blood and guts instead. Even though I've been burned by 'Angelina the action hero' before, I am starting to wonder if this movie could be the dark horse in the box office race this summer. What do you think?
Wanted opens in theaters on June 27th.
